What's weird is that my old OEM clock spring, I guess, went bad because the buttons stopped working, so I ordered a replacement clock spring on eBay brand new and installed it. I never really noticed I had an airbag light somewhere down the line I noticed the light on so I hooked up an ODBII scanner (I have MaxiCOM MK808S) and saw that their was an airbag problem I thought it was a driver or passenger seat problem, maybe with a cable under the seats but apparently it was the new clock spring so for some reason I was getting a low resistance reading in the live data i'm talking like 0.9 ohms for some reason today I went back at the clock spring for a few hours trying to figure it out even went to a salvage yard and pulled a clock spring from a 2015 model but that one came back with a fail so I'm not sure if it was damaged because I pulled it from a car that had a airbag deploy on and it damaged the clock spring but anyways I went back to using the clock spring I bought on ebay that was giving me a airbag light well I read on the yellow sticker label about turning the clock spring clockwise until its tight and then turning it back 3 turns till the arrows align up and for some reason the air bag light is now gone and their is no error code anymore for it. I'm sure if adjusting the clock spring like that had anything to do with the fix but it did. Because this was a new Clock Spring saying that the resistance was 0.9 now it's at 2.3ohms

Sounds like you had a long day buddy, my experience telling me you might have connection issues, when you unplug and plug it back then everything back to normal most likely is a connection issue. But I’m glad it worked now. Thanks for sharing your experience.

My volume controls and cruise control functions on the steering wheel are not working. Could this be the clock spring as well? Or is it more likely because the previous owner has installed a apple play screen? Any help much appreciated! Thx from Copenhagen 🙂

Well, there is aftermarket parts involved here, yes it could be the clock spring or the apple car play or maybe the switch itself, not long ago I replaced clock spring for audio unit concerns, the FM station will seek station while steering, when I removed the clock spring and examined it I noticed the ribbon slightly damage and causing the seek button to engaged.
