Wow the original ones lasted over 20 years? Must had been some good quality. I wonder if the new ones will last thats long. How are they doing so far?

I should of qualified that 20 year use statement. They were pretty worn, and being a formal dining room setting, they were not used every day. The new ones still look perfect.

Are the nylon floor protectors better than a felt one? Would they last longer?

All things being equal, I think the nylon guides will probably last longer but that's just my opinion. The chairs in the video were mix and match with both carpet and nylon glides, and after at least 20 years, both were not only still functional, but still had some life left in them. The nylon is more available in small sizes.

What size bit did you use?

I used a 1/16" (1.6mm) twist bit which was a perfect fit for the glides I bought. However, some glides take a larger bit. I always drill a test hole in a piece of scrap wood to test the fit before I drill into the furniture leg. Hope this helps.
