DIY Furniture Pads That Don't Collect Hair or Dust and Still Protect Your Floors!

I absolutely hated how hair and dust were always getting caught on the bottom of my chairs! I needed a solution, and after doing some research, I found out that leather does not attract hair, so I thought... "why not make furniture pads out of leather!?" That is exactly what I did! I found a leather belt from the thrift store, cut it to size and super glued those babies on!
UPDATE: IT WORKS! :D

Yes!!! It does hold up, there's no hair! However, the chairs don't slide as well as if they were on felt pads. I have conditioned them with a leather balm, which helps them slide.

What a great idea! As I was watching this, I thought "where am I going to get pieces of leather?" Your suggestion to use an old belt is so smart. I never would have thought of it. I made these for my kitchen chairs and they turned out great. I'm now going to make them as pads for all my furniture. :)

I was thinking more along the line of silk or some kind of slippy polyester like some scarves are made from ... 🤔 It will definitely be a fine balance between thin and slip enough to not catch hair, while being thick and sturdy enough to slid on the floor without tearing.

I am sooo excited to find your KZread hack for replacing hairy felt pads with leather pads made from a belt! I have a black German Shepherd which is said to be the most shedding dog there is and a beautiful short hair black cat. Combine that with white beach vinyl floors and I am constantly vacuuming, running the Roomba, and mopping! I always have to pick the lint of my dining room chairs and any furniture that moves and it’s a revolving door to clean. Anything to make this easier is so appreciated. Tell me what kind of leather wax did you use? And what side of the belt touches the floor?
