Great video thanks for the good explanation! A question though... Are rotors the same for 4x4 and 4x2 Rangers? I own a 2011 XLT 4x2. Thanks guys!

Do I need to take my brake fluid cap off while depressing the brake cylinder?

It won't hurt anything if you do. I recommend doing one side at a time when doing brake jobs. Once you are done one side and everything is back together then go to the other side and collapse that caliper. You will have less of a change of spilling brake fluid out of the master cylinder using this method. Hope this helps you out.

You're pushing the pistons back in before opening the bleeder or removing the reservoir cap at the very least. If someone had topped up the fluid at some point and its already full, then pushing those pistons back in is going to cause damage.

We checked the brake fluid reservoir as we always do before performing this brake job. Yes, you can loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap to allow for an over filled brake reservoir. If you do one side of the vehicle at a time as shown you should be all set. Never had an issue in the 35+ years of doing this using this method.
