Great video, I wish I had this over a year ago when I took apart a Super Ricohflex whose lenses were nearly frozen and required a lot of force to move. Didn’t know about the marks to align the two lenses, but used another method to set infinity focus. I haven’t shot the camera yet to assess the focus, but could always take the gears off again and look for the alignment marks.

Many thanks for this enjoyable YT channel. I very much like looking at older Japanese RF cameras and own a few, although most do not work, yet. Have ypu used/examined/worked on any Tanack IV-S and have any opinion as to the quality vs other Leica copies?

Awesome video! I'm using it to try to fix my own Ricohflex with seized lenses. I'm looking at it and it doesn't have any focusing marks on the first lens elements. I've watched out video a few times already, am I missing the point where I can fix infinity focus without the infinity marks?

Amazing video! I wanted to ask you if it’s possible for you to make a “beautyflex” tlr disassembly/repair/maintenance video. They happen to be one of the oldest tlr brands in japan, and quite rare nowadays, and I’ve been unable to find enough info in order to keep mine in mint condition. Thanks anyway in advance! What did I miss here ? You never explained how to fix the focus if you don’t have the marks on your lenses.

Wish I knew ths beforeI tried tofiy argo flex E shuer by unscrewing both the lenses. Can you do a video to show us how to get that put together right?

Hey there! Question about the helicoid marks that are supposed to line up. Do they line up PERFECTLY when you end up threading then properly or do they sometimes end up very close but a few mm off? I have tried for like an hour and can not get them to line up exactly with the corresponding marks.

Hi, Thank you for this video! I had one question - what is the tool you use to remove the first of the 3 rings on the shutter? It’s at 24:25 for a few seconds, and you didn’t introduce the tool in the beginning. Otherwise everything is crystal clear. I’ve got an old Super Ricohflex which is totally seized up. Husband bought it off of EBay years ago and it’s never been used. I am pretty capable at DIY, dad was a mechanic, so instead of spending $$$, I have everything else already except he bike lubricant in the syringe and that other mystery tool. Keep up the videos, they’re so helpful!

I use a rubber stopper to remove the lens base, then a screwdriver to push the lock ring around the shutter leftwards to remove it.

would this lensetrick work for a zeiss ikonflex II?

the lighter fluid trick only works of a while. If that camera was destined for work, the shutter escapements really should be cleaned and lubed properly,
