Total entertainment, Love this video. I have 3 of these cameras, and feel more confident to maybe tackle one into CLA. Any chance of doing a video on the Ricoh SIX folder. I have two with stuck focus helicoids. It is after all the exact same lens as the Ricohflex. I love your channel because Japan made so many fantastical cameras between 1950 & 1966. Sadly some of the manufacturers didn't make it. Aries, Royal & Beauty to name a few. I Hope they were sucked up by a larger manufacture than just fading away. Boy they made nice cameras during the 15 year period. Thanks for sharing.

The flip-up mirror doesn't sit at a 90-degree angle when it pops out. Do you have any suggestions on how I'm able to fix it? Thanks for showing this process!

Can you do a video on copal shutters or help me with 3 that are behaving very strange. I have some mamiya 6 folding cameras and all the ones that have the copal shutter have 5 and 10th sec acting like 125th sec and 25th sec acting very slow at more like 5th sec. I have read you can adjust them at the pallet end by closing or opening the gap. Closing would make the speeds slower. All shutters have been stripped down and all blades cleaned. All the other mamiya shutters that are not copal work perfectly after a strip down. I bought them as not working all gummed up and those are working beautifully now! Its just these copals. When I try to move the slow speed unit before tightening the two screws I can sometimes get 25th sec right as there is a little play in the screw holes but 10 the sec never slows down and no amount of adjustment on the pallet works. I think these are just too old or copal shutters are badly made. The fact that all three are giving me the same problem is the weird thing. There is not much info on the web about this so any help from your experience would be greatly received.

I disassembled my Ricohflex to remove mould and clean. But I’m struggling to sync the two lenses now. The issue is with the viewfinder lens. I put a subject 3.5 feet away, and focused the image-taking lens. But I can’t get the viewfinder lens to focus on the subject. Any tips would be very much appreciated.

With the focusing lens gear/ring removed, you need to turn the lens to focus at infinity by looking through the viewfinder and focusing loupe. Once the lens is focused, you slide on the lens gear/ring with the infinity mark lined up with the arrow, then tighten the set screws. When you look at the side of the lenses after the gears are removed, you'll see scribe marks on the outer and inner lens assemblies. You don't need to use these marks to adjust the viewing lens because you can set it with the viewfinder, but for the taking lens they are a good aid. If you screw the lens all the way in, the marks on the lens should go about 1cm past the marks on the outer lens body. You then turn the lens back 1cm until the marks line up. If the marks go more than then 1.5cm, the lens must be unscrewed and then screwed back in another position until the position is right. This can take a little time and patience.

To what approximate distance should you set focus on both lenses ? You said you focused on Tokyo tower but how far was it ?

Tokyo Tower is about 2km away. I like to use it because during the day the orange color makes it easy to focus precisely, and at night it is brightly lit.
