It really depends on the remote. we have seen somewhere it lasts for years and others, where it lasted for days.

You can just rub-on powdered graphite like "Loc-Ease"

For cheap conductive paint, you can buy the rear window defogger paint from an auto parts store.

Hello! We wouldn't recommend using Electric Paint for the defogger of a car, instead we recommend using alternatives that were designed for it

Defogger paint will be brittle when dry and won't adhere well to rubber. It'll work in a pinch but don't expect it to last for something used regularly.
