I had a wallpaper removal horror story. My then husband and I had just bought our first house, and I threw myself into home improvement projects. One of the first ones was a hallway with outdated wallpaper. I had read you needed to score it, and I applied warm, wet towels to the walls to loosen the wallpaper. It only worked a little bit. I probably got too impatient and ended up damaging the drywall, so the whole thing became much bigger project than it should have been... Oh, what I wouldn't have given for a Wagner steamer!! 🤩 I enjoy your videos. In addition to taking on all kinds of interesting projects, you have such a pleasant speaking voice.

Unfortunately, my parents were really into wallpaper. After they died, guess who had to sell the house? I am willing to bet that the buyers removed that wallpaper in a New York minute.

Thank you for this video! Getting ready to move into a new house, and most of the living spaces are covered in a dated wallpaper. Know this is going to be a huge project to remove it all, but hopefully what you shared here will make it a bit easier.

I have that exact same Wagner unit!! It’s great and it even doubles as an amazing wood steam bender after you make a steam box to put your wood lumber in then you can steam bend and make awesome shapes and it even triples as a car or truck interior carpet snd seat steamer!!! Works great as well just apply some carpet or seat cleaner then steam large sections with the big square for wallpaper then scrub then steam again then vacuum with a good wet dry shop vac!!! It literally does three jobs all in one!!!!!!

Years ago, I moved into a house built in the 80s. Ugliest wallpaper I'd ever seen. All bathrooms, kitchen, & laundry room. I began in the kitchen. Rented a steamer. Was so excited how easy that first pull came down, then realized there was another layer of wallpaper that was uglier than the first layer. That second layer seemed to have been super glued to the sheetrock. I began to tear the sheet rock so I called in the "professionals" & they removed it & painted. It was so beautiful until about six months later when the paint began flaking! They clearly did not properly clean the glue from the walls! Anyway, just moved to another house & it has wallpaper. I'm thinking of just painting over it but I would really love to remove it.

Wallpaper horror story... I went away for a long weekend to visit my great-aunt. Came home to discover that my husband had removed the wallpaper from the dining room walls. I LIKED THAT WALLPAPER!!! Oh well, time for something new I guess, and to be honest the stripes in that wallpaper were a little crooked. But he did not use steam and hoo-boy was the drywall a mess of gouges and scratches. It took me forever to fix that, skim coating and sanding every wall in the entire room. It eventually came out nice, but it wasn't the first project I would have chosen to do.

I had wallpaper in three full rooms...the dining room was bad, but at least it came down in fairly large pieces. The worst was a small bathroom that must have had extra glue. We were literally removing it in 1" strips. Took me a week to get it all off. I will never put wallpaper up again.

This is the same way I take tints off my cars. Use the steamer and it gets behind the tint. Easy
