    Thank you! Helped so much! My door actuator stopped working and vehicle would not lock. Replaced actuator in about hour and half with this video. Fixed my door locking problem. see Paul Crossley note about loosening the window bracket, reverse threads to loosen and tighten. The white plastic part that clips onto the lock actuator has a tab on the top of it that slips into a slot on the interior of the door. While the window is loose, I found pulling the window all the way up helps with seeing how that plastic tab goes back into it's slot. Tools you will need are E5 socket, M6 triple square socket, assorted torx and 13mm socket.

    Both of my rear doors on the Cayenne 92a are not opening from the outside from cold now. Even though I'm an engineer this whole procedure of pulling the door apart seems intimidating! Laterally I do not like the €700 quote per door from Porsche to repair.

    Note at 4.07 the torx screws thread to secure window bottom need to be screwed in to loosen. Also that window needs to have been lowered by iro 200mm to access these. You will need a E5 socket.

    I wish I had read this before I started. I had to stop because the window was still attached to the inner panel which I could not remove. I don't know if I can lower the window now that I've disconnected all of the wires. UGH

    This is THE BEST KZread showing this job , however at 4.00 mins two rubber grommets are removed and it is not clear what is being done: Please let me explain : The rear window glass is CLAMPED at its bottom edge by a clamp which is tightened using two E5 female Torx, (Note it is tightened anticlockwise) These Torx cannot be seen unless the window is lowered to the correct position. I removed the motor and turned the gear using large O ring pliers , but you may be able to push the window down until the two E5 Torx become visible. The E5 Torx clamp is then loosened CLOCKWISE (Strange).( If you loosen too much, the bolt will fall out backwards and can be retrieved later and re inserted.) It is only necessary to LOOSEN THE CLAMP ! Then raise the window to the TOP and TAPE IT UP !. Only then remove the two top torx bolts and lower the regulator panel downwards and away. . If this stage is not done correctly, it will be impossible to lower the regulator from the window glass ! Just trying to be helpful. FABULOUS 😁 p.s. the replacement door lock mechanisms are available on Amazon £44.22 GBP and they appear identical to the Porsche original (Which failed ). It is necessary to select the correct door, and vehicle, so no link provided.

    Wanted to express thanks for this video - 958 Cayenne rear door locks stopped working (both went intermittent and one time actually jammed the door closed, couldn't risk leaving them connected). Managed to replace both with generic VW items using this video. A couple of points which i found as i went today: 1) The car pictured does not have electric sunshades, this adds a hassle - to remove the door lining you need to prise open the sunshade cover, and then using a small screwdriver split the 2 plastic halves which hold the fabric just around the centre pole area. Once prised open the door lining will come away from the sunshade pole. 2) Take the advice below re loosening the window runner - reverse threads. I didn't have an E5 socket but i found that a regular 4MM socket fit very snugly and worked perfectly. You need to run the window around 3/4 of the way down to see the little bolts for this. You then need to run the window closed again with it loose and tape/sucker the glass up, to get the glass out of the way of the mechanism coming out. 3) Don't worry that you cannot see past the technicians arms for the innards - this was all very logical and straightforward, found i could skip the bits about connecting the latch cables etc - i didn't find that i needed to disconnect most of the wires that he does either, just left the inner door partition hanging down while swapping the lock out.

    Your comment is so valuable, as I’m struggling with removing the liner as we speak, because of the sunshade. I’m going to see if I understood the bit about prying open the 2 halves that hold the sunshade fabric. Doesn’t make sense to me just yet, but may be when I go look at it again

    Good VDO, some time camera angle was not that perfect so could not see but shoulder and arm. As usual Over Engineering by German designers. I have done same for Lexus and pretty simple than Porsche. Always feel German Enginners need to get training in Japan to learn how to keep simple things simple rather over complicating it and making more costly by adding lot of unnecessary components.

    Ok I figured out its 12 point bit or 3 square bit, DO NOT use Torxs 6 point bit for Latch assembly striker plate removal which is attached to Body/ Shell near child lock. It will damage screw thread. Use correct Bit and size.

    Do these plastic clips really hold up and don't break after snap out and snap on? I doubt they will stay in place same way as before...
