for those who are considering doing this too. if you just want to take out the db killer. can you just take your exhaust off and make two holes. it is not necessary to take the whole cap off. the plugs are normally already supplied with the exhaust.

Contrary to popular belief, there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to drill out the rivets and remove the carbon cap. The screws fixing the baffles are (barely, but) visible through the carbon cover, just get a L-square ruler and measure 12.5mm from the edge and drill two 12mm holes. The screws are spot welded so don't even try to use a hex-key, it will just mangle the screw heads. Use a socket wrench instead to break the welds, it's not that difficult. (If you don't want to drop the screws inside the carbon cap, apply a little engine grease.) The baffles proved to be impossible to remove without proper tools. Lube, pliers, etc didn't work for me and you can't hammer them out from the other end, because the can is blocked. In the end I used a bearing extractor with the sliding hammer. Use the factory rubber plugs supplied with the exhaust. Reinstall the exhaust and enjoy, it's VERY LOUD even on idle. 🤣

Danke :) Mit einer kleinen nietenzange! Ja kann man schon.. man kann ihn einfach nur reinstecken und der sitzt dann schon ziemlich fest.. ABERRR es ist immer die Gefahr das der DB killer rausfällt.. ich hatte damals den DB killer abgeschnitten (das dünne lange rohr) er war nicht zu laut und auch nicht zu auffällig.. :)

@@raiven8068 Die genaue Größe weiss ich leider nicht mehr.. jedoch kann man beim kauf der nieten, auch gleich die passende Bohrer Größe mitnehmen.. also das das loch wirklich zu den nieten passt... :)

Weisst du ob man bei dem Endtopf den Kat verbauen muss, sodass man Endtopf und Anlage zusammenbauen kann, oder ob es möglich ist den Kat einfach wegzulassen? Hab da nur die Bauanleitung gesehen und gedacht dass der Kat irgendwie das Verbindungsrohr zwischen Anlage und Endtopf ist?

Der Kat wird in das Rohr reingesteckt (Er ist selbst kein verbindungsstück) also denn kann man rausnehmen und dann ohne Kat fahren. :)

Wie hast du die Carbonkappe von Auspuff bekommen? Bei uns scheint die irgendwie festgeklebt zu sein.

Ja die ist festgeklebt.. aber stück für stück mit nem schraubenzieher abziehen…

@@raiven8068 Hallo die ist extrem schwer ab zu bekommen... also ganz vorsichtig leicht mit einem schraubenzieher zwischen endkappe und auspuff die runterschieben... aufpassen das sie nicht zerkratzt wird... beim ersten mal ist da ein wenig kleber dran... aber es ist möglich

I bought the original from akrapovic.. i googled it but there is no size.. 4,5 mm i think.

Hi. I also have Akrapovic for the ktm 690 smc-r 2021-2022 ( url. avdvparts) and I removed DB killer, but the high pitch frequency (13500 - 14000 Hz) is killing me, even with ear plugs. There is no way to ride like this I have to put back the DB killer. I notice you r DB killer is short, mine is 20 cm. Did you do some modifications and what was the result?
