Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

How to Remove & Replace RAM 1500 Rear Axle we show step by step how we remove the rear axle on this ram1500 pickup truck with bad pinion bearing inside the differential causing a whine noise from the rear end when at a constant speed it would make a constant groaning whine sound we decided on doing a rear axle replacement with another rear axle with good pinion bearings with the same gear ratio in the differential

    Wish you had a video of the noises it was causing at speed. I suspect my pinion bearing being bad but I dont know how to properly diagnose the sounds I hear

    If that doesn’t work, check the rear thrust angle. You may have to buy rear adjustable control arms to properly align the rear thrust angle to get rid of the vibration.

I drove home jacked up the rear of truck and the rear wheels will only roll backwards any idea what's going on???

    MAN! That's alot play for the pinion Jon. At least for now you know how to check for excessive wear or play on your rear axle. It could have been worse if the rear axle gave out or snapped while you were pulling the trailer to Texas. I hope no more problems with the rear axle.

    Toward the end you mentioned you swapped over a "13-50" flange. Is that necessary for any axle swap or was there something specific about yours? I'm getting ready to swap the rear axle on my EcoDiesel (I tow our travel trailer a LOT) and want to make sure I have all my bases covered. Thanks!

  • @BoostedMotorsports

    @BoostedMotorsports

    Yeah apparently the crush sleeve can wear as well from heavy loads too causing the pinion bearings to fail. This new one has a crush sleeve eliminator on it too so it should be one less failure point
