Hi, do you know what that white cog is called next to it? As that’s what’s broken on mine
please help. Thermostat changed, new expansion tank, door blend moving and switching, heater core replaced. But still hard-cold air.
Hi, great video, however i am struglling to refit the yellow brackets back on, any easy way to do this?

Hello, make sure the pipes are fully in place, there isn't really a trick to it, what you can do is, put the clips together without the pipes to get the idea, then try putting it on to secure the pipes with the heater core. Best of luck
Hi, does the blower resistor come out with the fan unit?

no, the resistor is on the other side.
Did you empty the coolant before you removed the heater core? Or was that the only amount of coolant that came out when disconnecting the heater core pipes?

Hello , I did not empty it at all beforehand , however, when I turned the core upside completely (which wasn't in the video), a lot more came out . In the video, the position of the core slides out sideways, only that much coolant came out. Kind regards, Theo

Is this for the European or USA model? My 2013 sport needs a new heater core. (Thanks!)

Hello, you are welcome :) the Fiat 500's in Australia are manufactured in Europe, Australia is left-hand drive, with the steering wheel on the right. Im not sure if that would impact the location and accessibility of the heater core (I don't see why it would). Drivetrain etc would be different . Best of luck, Carstar

@@Aussiecarstar sadly from going over the service manual. It looks like (and forgive my lack of car knowledge) that they have the AC and Coolant pipes running out of the car through a bracket. And I would assume the AC gas has to be vacuumed out before the bracket can be removed. But theoretically* I believe I could unclamp the heater core from the engine bay. Save the clip. Cut the metal so its thinner than the bracket. Slide out the old heater core. Widen the bracket with a circular saw a few mm bigger than the original pipe. Slide in the new heater core and use a silicone ring grommet to account for the wider hole.

*oh I forgot to mention. Looks like the heater core on the USA model is one piece. The tubes are welded to the core. No clips . Just brackets to rubber tubes
