@@SimpleCarGuy I have a 500 myself and the only complaint I have with this very convenient feature is when the driver exits the car and tells a passenger to lock himself/herself inside the car. The passenger has to lean over the driver side to do so. By locking his/her passenger side door lock, he/she only locks his/her side while the driver side locks both doors. But all in all, these are great little cars with nice details. Mine is older than yours and it has some hidden storage areas, under the dashboard, under the passenger seat and on the center console which are neat as well. You got yourself a nice Abarth :)

@@SimpleCarGuy That flashing is not just to let you know that a door/hatch/trunk is not closed. It is a pre-lock status alert. If you open either door, hit that button and then close the door, the car will lock itself. The purpose is simple: You get home from the store, get out and grab your bags from the trunk. Now your hands are full and you have to fumble to lock the car. This feature removes that problem. Get out, push button, grab bags, shut hatch, car locks.

I like the follow me home one. I didn’t know about that cool thanks!

There are buttons on the back side of the steering wheel (2015 Abarth) to control volume and radio station... Dunno if that's a hidden feature but I thought it was cool when I found it.

Cool video I don't know if you know this or not but if you tap it turn signal and don't fully turn it on it will go for 4 signals perfect for changing lanes

Do it man, I just got mine last summer and it is by far the most fun ive had driving

The rear windshield wiper turning on in reverse freaked me out when I had to back out of the car wash. One you missed is a secret "track mode." If you press AND HOLD the ESC Off button for 6 -10 seconds. (its supposed to be 10, but my car is 6) it turns off both the traction control AND the stability control. Simply pressing the button only turns off traction control. Pairing this with the Sport mode button can really Up the "oof" factor in the bends.

Yeah it can amp things up quite a bit. I do wish my 1996 Firebird 5.7l V8 with insane rear wheel drive torque had ESC on it😂 would have saved me a super bad crash where I totaled it at 19 in the rain. Some folks complain about some of these safety features 2012+ cars have but it would have saved a lot of lives back then. Luckily I survived but was hurt. Still have a bad shoulder from the accident and I’m 43 now. And I destroyed a car I loved. I was getting on a freeway on-ramp that was pretty twisty and short to get up to speed. And it was first hard rain of the year and super slippery. ESC would have stopped the spin out before it started. Car ended up ripped in half by a semi truck. Had I had anyone in passenger seat they would have died.

With my 2012 Abarth I've upped the power to 196, which is more than enough for a car the size of a roller skate (but with more room for the 6'4" frame than my old 1990s Lincoln Battleship. I've added a 500Madness Go Pedal and typically run it in Eco+++ mode to save gas. (it's nice to fill up for only $30 right now.) However, we have some very short on-ramps here in Las Vegas with people doing 90+ on the highway, so it's nice to have the option to get up to speed, post haste.

My 2017 500c Abarth doesn't have a spare, but it has the Mopar air compressor with the gel canister. The gel actually works surprisingly well after finding a nail in my tire (it brought my psi from 4 to 30 and it held well for a few days), and you can buy the can separately to replace it after it's used up. Also, the cabrio top can roll back with the key fob by holding the unlock button while outside of the vehicle.

I set the driver's handle to open all doors (menu option). With the key in the ignition the doors can't be locked, but I now carry a key blank... after putting the key on the passenger seat and accidentally locking myself out of the car. (I'm in the habbit of using the driver's lever to lock the car so it doesn't beep at me. Not annoying until you upgrade the whimpy horn.) I assume someone removed the air pump from your car. Some Abarth owners do silly things to cut a couple pounds from the car's weight. There is an optional spare tire for the 500 which includes a spare, a cable lift, and tools to tuck a spare underneath the rear of the car. Since these cars gobble a set of tires every 25 to 30K miles, it's a good option.

As someone that is currently sitting in the parking lot while my Mother in-law is in her doctor’s office the radio feature is my new best friend. Thanks for the video.

You might want to download the full owners manual for the 2013, about 450 pages. The 2013 Abarth manual was a simplified 80 page version with lots of color pictures, rather insulting if you think about it. "See Abarth. See Abarth run. See Abarth run fast. Dick and Jane like Abarth." 😁

Really helpful I just purchased a 500 pop . Not able to successfully pair blue toot . Center speedometer and tach is always giving me information like miles per gallon or tire pressure also miles remaining on a tank cool stuff but I don't know how to navigate it though the menu. I like the car it has a great little motor but I didn't know it required premium fuel. It's a 2015 but seriously clean I think the headlight lens are glass not plastic. .

There is a timed oil pump that runs for up to 10min after u shut ur car off, to help the turbo cool. It's in my 2013. If you're quiet after shutdown you can hear it.

Helpful my Fiat 500 and probably most have a hidden compartment underneath the passenger seat the seat lifts up then you pull the seating area up and over towards the windscreen there is a storage box there I keep my locking nut for my wheels and also spare cds not many know about this spare storage .

the door handles locking the doors goes way back. My original 1974 Fiat 124 Spider did that. You pulled the handles up to open the door and pushed them down to lock.

I also recently found that if you need to get into the trunk while in the car. The buttons on the key do not work. Push the lock handle in to lock the car and then pull them out to unlock, it will release the trunk so you can use the button under the license plate light.

If u hold the key thob lock button for like 5 seconds the windows will wined up and if u hold the unlock down for 5 seconds then the windows will go down

Default is to open only the driver's door; set the menu option to unlock both doors. With both doors unlocked, the hatch is also unlocked. From then on, either the fob or the driver's handle will lock/unlock both sides.

Well, there is something I hate: Let's say that I unlock only the driver's door, then I put the key on the ignition and I start the car. If you don't close the door, you are not able to unlock the trunk with the key, nor the door handle.

My 2012 had that signal blink feature, surprisingly my 2019 Abarth doesn’t

The hidden compartment in the passenger seat

You would use the jack and lug nut tool to take off the flat tire and take it to tire repair shop. Space saver spare is a "dealer installed" option. So glad I got it. It is tucked outside, under the trunk and lowers down like a truck spare. No idea why everyone did get it added. Adds very little weight, doesn't take away usable space, and when you get a flat it is oh, so useful. Just used it again today.

A few things i would like to note: The rear wiper goes to fullspeed when reverse gear is in. It doesnt activate with intervall function. This drives me nuts. Everytime it rains i have to turn the wipers off to prevent the rear wiper from dry wiping it self to death. The radio only works for 10 or 20 minutes, if it is not disabled. You have to set that in the options of the board computer. I dont know if older models have it, but you can also activate a beeper at a certain speed to warn you when you go above that speed.

That's so funny to imagine. I worked at a well-known rental car company and it reminds me of the cars that were returned with the back wiper on at full speed because the renter didn't know how to disable it

I watched a vid from Australia, and the narrator showed a ‘secret’ storage/glove box under the driver seat. I can’t seem to find it on my 2014 Sport...is it there? Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, here's another hidden feature on your fiat, but first let me say I have a 2013 lounge and it does have a spare tire.. that little tool bag you found under your seat is a jack for the spare tire that it comes with and that fine cool feature would be in the back Under the car., yeap , tucked away .. So Now you know and the jack is in the bag under the driver's seat AND FYI: When you go to jack up the car LOOK on the bottom of the frame and you'll see an ARROW showing you precisely where to put the jack and that's in front or in the back ( on the bottom of the frame ) You'll see it... Everything is in that bag that you'll need to jack it up.. Hope this helped out to all that didn't know this.. This is something I found myself because I figured it couldn't be anywhere else .. It's amazing because it's so well hidden.. OH, wait ! , one more thing , the car also has a gadget equivalent to a black box on a airplane.. I strongly recommend everyone to read the manual on this feature because it does some pretty cool things but there's othere features ab9ut this car that pleasantly surprised me.. READ YOUR MANUAL and know all the great features it has for you.. Anyway good luck.

There is a funnel provided if you need to add gas with a gas can. You cannot put anything in the fuel tank without it.

Another hidden feature: when you turn the steering wheel, the front wheels turn in the same direction

I can't set the dash clock. No combination of button pushing helps. It's the dash clock that's small in the right side above the P for park. The car has an after market radio, whose clock I can set but it does not synch with the dash clock.

I have a 500e, the clock sets through the menu buttons on the dash, the display has to be in the right mode, probably different on the gas models

i just learned there is a secret compartment under the driver seat if you pull the lower half of the seat portion up from the joint, should pop right open

The fiat that came with the' gel tire pump' thingy does not have a spare that's why it's a "Gel "fix-a-flat" gadget but if your fiat came with a "tool bag" under the driver's seat then know this it does have a spare tire..

First feature was already something I didn’t know… 😅

Maybe everyone knew this, heated mirror activated with the rear window defrost. 500e automatically goes into Park when you forget and step out of the car with it in gear. It's saved me countless times

Had a Fiat for a whole year before finding out the locking method with the door handles. I found out because of some 6 year old...

Yeah but if you press the lock button on the key fob and accidentally leave it in the car and close the door the key fob will be locked in the car. Horrible flaw in the system! I've locked my fob in the car twice by accident!!

IDk about the abarth, but mine has a spare tire strapped under the car. There's a crank under the carpet in the trunk to lower the spare!

The radio will turn off after 20 minutes. Changing stations or adjusting volume doesn't matter, it still turns off after 20 mins. Just turn it on again. My 2014 Pop from Poland, anyway.

My 2012 500 Sport came with a spare.

THE BEST AND COOLEST FEATURE THE FIAT 500 HAS is a SHOP MANUAL,, READ IT GUYS, THERES SOOO MUCH MORE COOL STUFF TO THE FIAT 500.. ONE I TOTALLY LOVE IS HOW IT AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS ITSELF DOWN LIKE THE GAS LINE TO PREVENT ANYTHING WORSE HAPPENING WHEN YOUR IN A WRECK, IT LEAVE THE FLASHERS AND THATS IT , IT RECORDS EVERYTHING TOO AND ANOTHER IS IT IF ANYONE STEALS YOUR CAR YOU CALL A PHONE NUMBER AND THE CAR WILL SHUT DOWN RIGHT WHERE ITS AT AND THE GPS WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHERE ITS AT. IF THAT AINT COOL I DONT KNOW WHAT IS.. READ THE MANUAL !! IF NOT YOUR MISSING OUT.. GOOD LIUCK (I LOVE MY 2013 FIAT 500 LOUNGE)

@@SimpleCarGuy It also adds a decent amount of unnecessary weight to the vehicle. I've owned several 500s, (Pop models and Abarths) and they have what I call semi-runflat tires. The air pressure never goes below 25psi, allowing you to get to an air filling station or repair shop. Obviously, if the tire breaks the bead with the wheel, you will lose all air. I have hit potholes that bent the wheel so bad, I lost air pressure but never lower than 25psi.

Yea... stick it into gear put your foot down, it's fast as fuck!

FFS. The first one, door lock, has been around since the creation of central locking!

There is a spare tire under the car in the back. Theres a button in the trunk, you pull it off and use tools from under driver seat to twist and lower spare tire so you can pull it off and use it.

SimpleCarGuy the other one is in the glove compartment roof, so if you put your hand on the top of it, towards the front, you will feel a lever. If you push it towards you and then pull it down it’s like a secret drawer that is concealed!

Yep it auto locks after you get above around 20mph I believe. You can turn it on and off on the display with the buttons :)

The spare tire comes as a feature in the european version only, regardless was ensembled in Poland or Italy, the Classic does not have most of these features, only the Pop, the Abrath, The Lounge and the Gucci, the american versions are 90% ensembled in Mexico or Brazil, not in the US, I have the Lounge here in the US and it does not have the spare tire in the trunk floor either, can be added as a feature under the rear of the vehicle, but you have to custom modify it to add a tire holder!

Pushing a door handle to lock a car has been around forever, hardly a hidden feature.

I wouldn't say it's been around forever - I have rented newer cars and my Abarth is the first I've seen it.

Older cars have this feature. But most people today wouldn’t know. I’m 35 and have never heard of that but my bf said his friend had an old nova that kinda did the same.

Pff damn . It´s sad to see the condition of the abarth tbh 😬

I know exactly what you mean, I got this one at an auction and it was a mess inside! This is after a good clean and some fixes already.

The fog light are aimed high. You can get a ticket for blinding that cop coming towards you. And there is no way to lower the angle of those fog lights. The sun roof leaks water. The electric windows will break down when they are down. And it's a pain in the ass to get them back up. The dealer has to replace everything in the door to fix the people. The tire air pressure sensors dont work all the time. Fiat is a waste of money

I drive with my fog lights on most of the time, no problem
