Hey mine did that on the front passenger door. Just lever a screwdriver in the little plastic clips underneath the door and it’ll all drain. No need to fully disassemble

Video helped me out. Short, simple, easy to understand. Thanks years later bud. Using this to diagnose window motor issue, stopped rolling up and making a grinding gear like noise, I can figure out just about anything going in blind but always prefer to watch someone else doing it like you first so i know what I'm up against.

Thanks for the video. One of the easiest panels I've had to remove, but knowing the few items to be aware of was helpful.

Most people remove the trim piece just inside where the rear view side mirror is first (where this video says to put the tweater at 4:42) , makes removing the panel that much easier.

I've just had pull the door card on my '06 UK spec Japan built Sport. As another commenter says it's easier if you remove the triangular 'garnish' as Mazda call it. The top pops out and the bottom has two downward hooks. If it has a tweeter the connector is a bit tight so I ended up leaving it connected. I didn't need a trim removal tool as the upper leading edge of the door is shaped such that you can get your fingers behind the card enough to pull it to release the top clip. After one's released the others follow and the wiring to the door switches should be just long enough for the bottom edge of the card to sit on the ground still connected. The clips all survived at 10C. The reason I had the card off was the driver's side glass was coming out of the rear channel due to my ignoring for too long the clunking sounds that warn the glass securing screws are coming loose and the rear screw was on the point of falling out - it's a known problem and there's a TSB on it. To get to them drop the glass so here's 60mm/2½" showing then remove the two square plugs in the middle of the inner door (see 6:13) . Torque figure given by Mazda in the TSB is 4Nm/35in-lb (the screws go into plastic so don't overtighten them) and there doesn't seem to be any alignment needed. Finally, while you're in there it's worth popping the round plug near the lock latch area to check the screw that holds the lock protection plate is tight. In my case it was missing completely and the plate was rattling loose. It's a 6mm thread.

Yea man i highly suggest doing components in the door so you have some tweeters up top makes for better sound because the speackers mount so low also means you can crank it less when driving with the windows down

Nice Vid, I have a large dent on my rear driver side door. I'm guessing the rear and front doors are pretty much the same. usually the doors insides metal bracing is all welded together. i dont think you can simply have just the outside door skin. could always pop the skin off the back doo r and see the backdoors are usually easier to take apart just be carefull when hitting the dent out the main may crack when you reform it. also use a rubber mallet haha anywways hope that helps a little

How do you replace the door lock cylinder on the driver side? That's my main question, haven't found videos for a 2006 Mazda 3 at all regarding that.

That's a design flaw in the door panels. The company knew about it but didn't change it. There are small valves at bottom of the doors to drain the water out.

Can this be done if the door is jammed, I mean if the door cannot open.

I have the 6 speaker but with no bose. since i have tweeters up by the mirrors, would i need component speakers and separate tweeters? i heard finding aftermarket tweeters that fit the same opening for this Mazda 3 is a pain

Hi, Rich, how can I open the locked door (driver side, front) when the lock actuator (selenoid) is bad?? I can not remove the skin panel because the door does not open, even with remote or with key. So, to get to the actuator I need to open the door to be able to remove the skin. How can I open the locked door, if the door is locked? All other doors are opening OK with the remote. Trouble is only the driver side, front door. thanks if you can answer this!!

Thanks! I was able to take off the door panel realise i bought the wrong size speaker and put it back together in under 2 minutes! xD

you would need to wire them to the door pins in the vehicle. woukd need to test them and wire them to that so they only turn on when door is open

down makes it easier. also allows you to see if the magnet will rub the window if your installing speakers

Do you know if it is possible to pop off the speaker cover without taking off the door? Someone vomited all over the cover and I just need to clean that part off.

hmm could be it has a actuater arm that moves with the window. If i were you wi would pull the skin off and maybe add some washers to the screws and see if the scrapping disapeers

hmmm if you pull out the top screw on the handle cup you will have access to the cable to open the door. if you cant open the door from there i would see a dealer or mechanic

yes mazda 3 from 2004-2009 are all the same

How much different is it for a 2010

even if it was working fine there are sometimes a metal mechanical arm that works with the motor that can jam up so when you have the door skin off just take a look for and thing fishy

No, because even if you manage to strip the black mesh covering the speaker, there is still no way you can fit a screwdriver and remove the screws, and even if you somehow manage to do that, you can't pull out the speakers (no wiggle room). Removing the door panels is very easy.

make sure the window lock key isnt pressed. try pulling the window down a little with you jand to make sure its not stuck in the seal the yes next part is checking with a meter and pulling pannel off looking to see whats jamming it up

What does that have to do with anything? The door panel doesn't hold the window motor, there's another panel that does and you have no work on that one.

Im sure if you google mazda 3 white door pins you will find a place with them haha or if you got to a dealer ship there pretty cheap. Oh or depending were your you live most auto part stores have a geno rack woth all sorts of plastic push pins and you should be able to match it up

So my back door panel has this rrally loud vibration sound in it, every time my subs are loud from out side all you can hear is this loud vibration, it kind of sounds like wen you have coins in ur cup holder and they shake, but there is no coins in there, anyone hav any idea how I can fix it????? Maybe some sort of insulation or something?????????

check your door handke on the outside see if it s loose that can do it. also if you have lock rods that open the doors they can vibrate around ca also dynamat them

This is not a video of a door skin removal. A door skin is the outer panel of the door.
