Anybody looking to do this on their 2nd Gen Mazda 3, please note you'll need spacers for the door's if they're deep. The window is now hitting the back of the speaker, make sure to roll them down for fitment notes and how much of a spacer, if you do need one, that you'll need. Happy Install!

You can tear apart the old speaker and use a jig saw to cut the middle stuff off, then use a sander or blade to cut the trim the top edges so it's all flat and bam you don't have to buy spacers.

I have a 2009 mazda 3 maxx sport and confused with what speakers will fit

Thanks, I love it! The left front speaker on my 2010 has some buzzing issues at times and I'm thinking of fixing what's likely loose screws or upgrading the speakers when the weather gets better. My only concern is that it didn't look like you drilled the hole larger and use a rubber grommet to protect the wires. I've seen too many things fail from wires getting cut by sharp hole edges.

That portion of wire won't move, and the fabric that is wrapped around the wires acts as a grommet. Nothing will be chopped, all open metal was also covered behind the camera for extra protection 🙂

Man, this is absolutely true. I put in an Alpine aftermarket radio and was about to do a speaker replacement, but tuning the radio right just made the stock speakers sound amazing. Didn't even upgrade the speakers.

i think you'll find the rear speakers are running off the front (series wiring), hence the reason they use 2 wires

I ain't tech savvy either and I got mine done too. In fact, I got an android radio installed on mine. It was a pain in the butt, but it is doable. Fyi: even if the speakers say that 6x8 is the same as the 5x7, buy them 5x7! The bigger one, the magnet gets in the way of the window. You will have to buy spacers🙄.

And here I am thinking, damn I should've watch this video first before trying to install my speakers on my Mazda 3 2010! Oh boy! You guys are taking too many parts out just to take that door panel out. Also, those 2 extra wires, I don't have them connected. They were previously connected to aftermarket tweeters which are no longer working. My speakers are working fine. Idk how but they are. I will eventually add new tweeters tho. Not hating, just giving advise, since I have had to take those door panels off like 10 times!🤣
