One day my driver door stopped springing back to the closed position and would only close if I pushed the handle in before hopping in my car. My lock also stopped working completely and my roll up window would only go halfway down. I took apart the whole door before I found your video and figured out I had the exact same problem as you and my door handle even broke on the same tab as yours. Thank you for making an easy to watch video and also thank you for saving me money as I was going to buy a lock actuator because I thought that was the problem.

Happy to help 👍. According to what I was able to find online, looks to be a design problem. That piece is made out of plastic, which after a while start to break to the point of not return. Glad u where able to fix it on time, and the window actuator didn't get damaged.

Had the same problem. Ended up fixing it by using some JB Weld epoxy to build the plastic back up and then put on a few more layers to build it up much thicker than factory. With the JB Weld, I piled it up over the little spring end that sits in the plastic notch, and extended the epoxy further down towards the handle as well and over the side too. I used a Dremel rotary tool to scuff up the plastic and cured epoxy between layers to give it best adhesion. If you can imagine, it looks like a large wad of bubble gum encased that whole side of the of the spring retention plastic. This is definitely a design flaw. No way should a spring that strong be held with just a little plastic nub. It should have been metal.

The plastic clips holding the two rods in place are 'unfastened' (not removed; they stay attached) by rotating them Clock-wise with your fingers. Pushing, just behind the rod, where the little 'C' shaped portion is hugging the rods, worked best.

It did not show how you actually got the door open if you couldn't open it I'm assuming you opened it from the inside my door handle is broken also and I can't open it from the outside or the inside how did you get your door open to pull off the panel? Thank you

I was able to open the door only from inside the vehicle.

Gracias Carlos 👍 hay que tener Mucha paciencia cuando se esta arreglando algo en El carro y mas cuando es la primera ves, tener un video es como tener un compañero guiandote en el proceso. Me toco hacer la Correa de los tiempo a mi Odyssey 08...me tomo casi 12 horas, entre manuales impresos y videos online....muy Buena experiencia....

What would a shop charge to do this? My driver door won't open from the outside or the inside. I get lost easy when there's a million little steps ☺️

Usually a regular mechanic can charge ur a min just to check what's the issue is. Min. Free max. $85.... depends also on ir location.

There are wires linked to the handles that are held by plastic tab, that are part of the mechanism.
