About 10 minutes ago I put my fob into this module and something inside it broke so it no longer holds the fob in while the car's ignition is on. I can just remove it without pushing it in first. Pretty sure the plastic got old and brittle.

I have BMW 328xi 2007 the stuck in ignition, I have to remove the power relay to get it out. No crank, no start. What should I do my friend?

I think you can just swap it over bro .. I swapped the Guage cluster out from another car into mine which has more miles and it showed everything correctly sometimes on start up it shows the other cars mileage then it changes to my cars true mileage but not all the time ..

I know this is an old video but ; My ignition doesn’t seem to realise I’m putting the fob in it sometimes…it works fine “sometimes” but other times I have to do it 30 times before the button works!! Any ideas what I need to do? The buttons work for the locks no problem at all … just doesn’t seem to know the fob is in there 🙃 It’s an “08” plate e90 320i cabriolet Any help greatly appreciated as can’t seem to find anything online Thanks

No...I didn’t. However, I bought a new on at Mercedes and it was super easy to change. There’s nothing to program...it just reads the key and sends the codes to the ignition module so I think a used one would work fine.

@@stevesunseth393 just read your message as I was looking to replace my reader as it keeps spitting the key our kid the reader but was worried incase there was an issues with recoding, it looks like its simple enough to fit

I know this is old post but I’m having same issue, put fob in starts -sometimes….sometimes takes twenty or so goes vecore it realises the fob is there… fu4in me right off now need a fix

Anyone else ever had the key fob stuck in the ignition slot? I've pulled the whole ignition device out with the fob stil stuck in it but scared to take it apart cus I don't wana damage anything. I swear it looks like they set a trap to rip fine little copper wires that'll rip

Yes! Thank god I found excellent European specialist shop, I paid 250$ so then I asked him for a tune up, differential, oil housing gasket, all four break pads for no less than 2000$ and I’m impressed my dash bored lights are all gone and the car is running smooth. Thank you for asking

I'm not sure if it will help, but the magnet is not holding the key or reading it....hopefully, it works with a new ignition replacement switch

Sadly, replace it. I had it once get stuck while in the middle of traffic. The car shut off cuz it didn’t recognize my fob. Got a key warning and tried to pull it out to insert it back in but it didn’t push out. Man, i was pisst off. I was already late for a meeting! it was stuck and all i can hear was driver honking like crazy😝😝😝

I replaced the battery with a new one but I'm getting no power to the cabin unless I connect a battery pack to the front jump points but if I do that the car still won't start... Do you have any idea why this is happening? I just got the car a few days ago and it's my first BMW

Check your junction box that covers the battery in the rear, and the DmE controller over the fan blower assembly under the hood.
