We have Cameron's 2006 Polaris Fusion 600 in the garage to address a fuel leak. Getting the carbs can be a challenge, but I'll show you the process to help take some of the frustration and anxiety from it.

You really have some great videos thank you! I have a 700 and 800 edge chassis. Any tips to dial these into making them start easier? Mine is typically a 6-8 pull to start from cold. Anything to look at first. Carbs are super clean?!!

You got it! Think snow.
What carb settings worked best for you on this sled in terms of jetting, screw turns and needle clip position? Right now my current set up is this 400 main jet Stock 145 starter jet 45 Pilot jet .6 Pilot air jet Stock needle position 2 Screw turns? I’ve heard a lot of people going to the .9 or 1 pilot air jets and maybe raising the needle to position 3. But going over the discussion boards everyone did something different. Thanks

How do you set them? I just got a sled and want to fine tune idle, and air fuel mixture
@StreetersGarage
3 жыл бұрын
Start with the baseline specs from the service manual and go from there. For setting slide height and idle. Take a look at the video I did for the Indy 500 round slides. It’s the same theory using the correct drill sizes. But with the Flatslides it’s much easier since it’s a single cable that you’re adjusting. Set the cable for the slide height and then use the idle adjustment screw to bring it to final.
Great info. A dealer would charge 600 to 900 to do this job.

@StreetersGarage

Typically you don’t have to deal with the tops. But it would be good to pull the caps off and inspect the slides and make sure they’re not cracked. If the slides are green in color, they’re prone to cracking. If they’re black, you should be ok.

The carb float asembly are all 100 percent plastic. No brass tang to adjust. Found my floats both just a tiny bit below level when viewed upside down. They are holding,blocking fuel when closed. Tested them with my mouth blowing air into the carb gas input plastic T line. Yuck,Yuck.. Took them apart. Now need new o rings. Might you have a spec, part number ? Wanted to check seat for debris, corrosion. Also...great tip on reconnecting float bowls and then tightening drain bolt before the holding phillips screw.

I did not disassemble the plastic floats and take the needles out and clean them , I think this was a mistake. I didn’t know enough about the carbs until I now am researching all of this. I’m going to this time. Hopefully it’s just got some grime in there and I don’t need to buy new needles. ? I really thought those O rings were surly the problem. So I just sprayed lots of carb cleaner through the port of the needles and blew them out good
how do you get those o-rings off? the ones on mine are almost a plastic feel and they dont stretch off the groove. i dont want to damage the float mechanism because that plastic feels pretty thin
