How to remove a Ferguson TE20 or 35 Steering Knuckle (The Easy Way)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I just show a quick tip on how I release the taper on a steering knuckle on a Ferguson TE20 steering arm. The same goes for the Ferguson and Massey Ferguson 35. You could wrap the steel plate in rag if you didn't want to scratch your paint.

G day Patrick, The gear stick may just be stuck, I have got them free by putting a big screw driver in through the gearbox oil filler hole and moving the selector. You might get lucky.

Hi, how do you fix the steering?. I turned the wheel while ball joints were off. Now 1 steering arm is facing the front and one is facing the back. The steering now apears to be out of its position now.. arms will not move now.

Try bashing along the tube to loosen any rust, as a last resort use heat, they can be very tight at times.

Any tips for getting the one at the other end off? I'm assuming they are the same part so come off in the same way but ive put as much force into getting the bugger off as i dare and have now convinced myself im doing something wrong??? Do i just need to hit it harder???

G Day Steve, Same process, put a lever between the track rod and the top arm and lever hard then hit the arm with a hammer. Usually works ok.
