How to remove a deck post cap.

I was able to find videos about how to put deck post caps on, but I wasn't able to find a video that showed how to take them off, and I needed to remove mine that had been damaged in a storm.

Thanks for this video, exactly what I wanted to confirm on getting a cap off. This is an example of those random youtube videos that you want to find when you need it.

Hey there, being this is a post from 2015, you may have figured out or have been told that a composite deck as well as any deck should be made with Pressure Treated lumber or Treated lumber before the composite product is applied. It doesn't rot.. If a deck is made with construction grade lumber that is used for things like walls, it will rot. Treated Lumber is for outside construction for that reason. Don't let anybody use anything else on your deck if having one made..The cap you replaced on your post cover is just for looks.. Hope this is a good tip for all.
