Removing Vinyl Fence Posts

I had to remove 16 vinyl fence posts for my neighbor. She needed to reuse them and I was lucky enough to pull every one right out of the concrete. The concrete is still in the ground but low enough a mower will not hit it and the grass still grows above it.

Hey Lollipop! Hope the video helps for your job. If you look at the comments from buzztrucker below your questions are answered. It is a farm jack and I got mine on Amazon. I think I paid about $60. Good luck! -AD

Can you just slide it back in? I’m only asking because there’s nothing wrong with my post, I just need to remove it so I can get the broken hot tub out of my backyard.

Yes the vinyl post was in concrete, but the concrete doesn't stick to the post. It only held it in place. Concrete would've stuck to a wooden post.

Thanks, but we didn't need luck. The concrete did not adhere to the vinyl. They slid out pretty easily. Now if we wanted the concrete out too then we would need some luck and hard work. That would require some digging. We decided to break off as much concrete as we could and then buried the remainder.

@@aarondonat thats what I meant. Now you have a bunch of concrete in the ground, but I guess thats for the next homeowners to deal with.

I just used a farm jack... I slid a 2x4 thru the hole on the post as low as I could... Then I had a cable that I wrapped around the 2x4 and hooked it to the farm jack... After that it was just cranking the lever on the farm jack and it inches out. The concrete has a hard time gripping to the vinyl and it literally inches out. I was surprised how easy it was. You can pick up a farm jack off amazon or at a ranch supply store like Tractor Supply or CAL Ranch. Good Luck! -AD

It's a Farm Jack.. You can get them at Harbor Freight, Northern Tools, Tractor Supply, and even Walmart. Google Farm Jack.

You jet the safety gear but your daughter doesn't? Come on man. One quick accident and she will get hurt. Glasses, gloves and boots for all helpers. I would even put a hard hat on her if she is going to hug that post while you jack it out of the ground. You could mess her up bad if that jack hits her in the head.
