How to remove a 3.6 Pentastar Engine Intake manifold. Tune up Spark Plugs P0300. Rocker arm noise
Also do this after plenium removed: • Doing This Will Make Y...
In this video I go over the proper way to remove the intake manifold on the Chrysler Jeep Dodge 3.6L Pentastar engine. Also i give out important tips on how to properly install to prevent cracking. You may be about to replace the oil filter adapter housing, the spark plugs, the lower intake manifold gaskets or simply to clean the trottle body of all carbon buildup.

Thanks man. I skipped the other videos because I trust you and your advice. I'm getting ready to do my plugs and just wanted to make sure they're wasn't anything special I needed to do. The bolt advice was great.
My hands were too big to remove those hidden bolts on the back of the intake so I scheduled an appointment with my Jeep dealer. The service writer had trouble explaining to the service tech what needed done so I showed him your video! The tech still didn’t get it so the service writer asked to borrow my phone and you schooled him on his job!! Thank you! After he saw your video I was out in a jiffy!
This video is perfect. Short, sweet, and speedy but not rushed. Great explanation on Everything brotha!
Hey just a quick note, at 1:20 you say the back bolt is a 13/16" but its actually just a 13mm. Maybe add in a note to the video to clarify that. Thanks again for the video, I had to pull the manifold off again to replace a oil cooler and this video always helps.

Yall get a standard 13mm in there or u need a stubby??
I searched this topic out to see what other mechanics like to use for plugs. Me, I pay through the nose for the OEM Mopar plugs and coils and am looking to save $$ this time around. I really don't have much trouble removing the plenum. Toyota Siennas are my worst by far!!! The Pentastar has a couple of achilles heels and this is my respectful advice: Buy port seals, vac lines, and an aftermarket oil/coolantheat exchanger with good seals. You'll already be there swapping out plugs. You might as well address that crappy plastic heat exchanger. If it starts leaking, you'll have coolant in the oil and that's a bad day, to the max! My 2016 Caravan has just turned 400,000 miles and still doesn't use a drop of oil. The 6 speed tranny is another matter....Thanks!
Bro I feel like I learned More in the first 30 sec than in any other video I’ve seen when you said all the different things I could do with the intake off I’m like “I need to do all those things!” Great video sir
Thank you, I know is an older video, but I wanted to comment on your no-nonsense straight-to-point and focus in those areas that can be tricky. For example, I also appreciate the attention to detail (working your way in while loosening the screws). It's self-evident this your tuber cares. And you just gained another subscriber.

Why thank you my friend. I really appreciate that.
I'm going to replace the sparkplugs in my Grand Cherokee tomorrow. This is a great video. Short and to the point. You explained where all the bolts and brackets are.
Man, your video is out here, saving peoples lives, money, lowering blood pressure, and giving that small, but really important additional information that will help guys like me from given up. See, I did not know about that. Screw in the back holding the back plate in place. I thought it was over for me. I’ve told myself I can’t believe my got this far and could not get this thing off. Thanks.
This video is priceless bc that hidden bolt is the key to replacing the spark plugs...I neatly went nuts trying to figure it out on my own!

The way to access that bolt is using a stubby 13 mm wrench. Their is no room for anything else and since the bolt is also used to support the hardness, that's the only tool that will allow you to break the connection. So, use a small panel pry bar to take the harness off the bolt, then use that wrench to break the connection and allow you to take that bolt out to remove the bracket. You'll thank me later!
Love the simplicity of your video. My wife’s 300 had a misfire code on cylinder 2 and just my luck it was under the intake. Your video saved the day and some money. Changed all the spark plugs while I was there. Happy wife happy life. Thanks for posting it!

Probably the best video I've seen for this task. Clear and concise, and easy to follow.
I'm old school Army Vet and need things broken down Barney-style. Because of you, I was able to understand and accomplish the mission. Spark plugs changed. Thank you, Sir
Awesome Video. I have a Jeep Cherokee with Pentastar and was contemplating what I might have to do to remove that intake. Many years ago (30+) I worked as an engineer writing dealer service manuals, so I know a little bit about auto repair. You did a perfect job explaining that and doing it in the shortest time to keep people's attention. AWESOME JOB.
I'm currently trying to help a buddy do his daughter's Jeep. Problem is he doesn't have any metric wrenches. So I'm trying to get that stud/ nut/bolt combo off and without the metric size he's screwed. Another buddy who lives nearby went home to get his metric wrenches for us. Thanks for your video my friend. I can always trust you to be very thorough for us. I shared your video link with my other buddy since he owns a Journey with the 3.6. I told him that you're my go to guy for Chrysler stuff. Thanks again my man!

Thanks for this! Appreciate being concise and to the point, most KZreadrs would probably drag this out into a 20 minute video...
This video was completely a life saver. That back bracket literally gave me a Hella of a lot of trouble. After I got that off it came right off. My seals were white, so I don't know if they need to be replaced or not. I replaced my spark plugs and coil packs with some RIPP supercharge spark plugs and coil packs. I forgot I didn't reattach my connector to my air intake after starting my car and driving it a quarter mile. When my check engine light came on after starting my car 3 times it reminded me I didn't reconnect it. I hope it goes off over night if it just needs to reset. If not I'll take it to advance auto and see what they can tell me.

Thank you so much for your video! I replaced my spark plugs, coils and PCV valve on my 2017 Durango. There were a couple things that were different, but able to get it done myself because of your awesome video! Thanks again!!!
Thank you so much. No other vid shows what you did. You saved me 400$. God bless.
Thank you for the very useful video. I wasn't able to get the bottom rear bracket bottom nut off, too small a space for my hands. I ended up loosening the bottom nuts on the right side brackets enough to get the posts off the brackets and then it came off. Hope that helps anyone else that's struggling with that back nut. The AC lines are in the way, but at least you can see what you're doing.
All I can say after watching 7 or 8 videos on this subject: I QUIT!! The right side is done, I'm putting it all back together & and I'll let the mechanic worry about taking that intake manifold off. I like my sanity & I think I'ma keep it.
Thank you for this video. Helped me find the bracket in the back!
Thanks for posting this one. Also, thanks for keeping it cut n dry n to-the-point
Awesome video. So straightforward and clear. This job was stressing me out, seemed like it would be a nightmare but now I think I can handle it easily. Thanks!
I had taken my Jeep in for new spark plugs, they tried charging me $650 because of this extra step, it’s a pain but $650, that’s nuts. I called around and a dealer was going to charge me $450. I finally talked them down to $400. Insane!

Very easy way of what to do for spark plugs. Seen other videos where alot of items had to be removed before the intake. You made it simple and less stressful. Thank you.

Hey man can you just cut the wire clip on that third bolt? I can't seem to get it off
At 1:23, you said 13/16th. On my 12 Charger SE, it was a 13mm. Now, I'm a big fan, but I spent my afternoon looking for that size, and all I found was the 13, after running to hardware store 2 minutes before they closed, because I didn't have one that size. Unless I missed something, or maybe it's an earlier engine than what you demonstrated on, I got ticked. Can you tell me if the 12 Pentastar has a difference? You're the best. Love this channel. But I can't drink a beer at 9 am when I put it back together. So there's that. EDIT. I'll read the comments before I gripe. You corrected it. My bad. Keep making videos, because mediocre mechanics like me need you!

Could I get your number to ask a few questions about my 2013 dodge challenger I recently drove my car into a deep puddle of water during a flood and quickly got out of it and the car started to stutter and lock up and I parked the car right before it shut off any help on how to drain my engine
I use to have a 2012 dodge avenger with the 3.6L pentastar engine. I ended up upgrading the oil filter housing to the 2013, because the spring loaded mechanism became bridle and the spring flew off during the oil change. I thought there would be a clearance issue because it's slightly higher, but seats perfectly with no issues. So if someone has one this is a way to eliminate that issue.
So helpful straight to the point

I’m a little confused , two questions,1- are you saying that 3.6 can make rocker noise when it just needs new spark plugs and tune up ? 2- what year 3.6 is that is it necessary to remove the air intake cover to replace the spark plugs to do a tune up ? And yeah I know that is 3 questions

I highly suggest you get truck scanned for any misfire codes before replacing any of the coils. When they go out, they can leave lil tale tail signs like a misfire or something..I wouldnt just raplace coils just to be replacing them. That could get expensive. Also go ahead and clean the trottle body while the intake is off already
