Great! Thanks!
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzread.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
Best video ever…Ive watched so many and this one is it..I finally got it.

This video was very helpful. I am having a problem getting the string to advance on its own. P prior to your video. I was taking the whole top off and pulling a little string out, putting it back on and weed eat and then repeat you showed me that button which is great, but what am I doing wrong that it won’t advance on its own. Thank you.

Could be a few possibilities: 1) Make sure you have the right size string. It takes 0.065" diameter ROUND string. Any other size or shape string will cause problems. 2) You could be winding it too tightly when you put the string on the spool. When wrapping the string onto the spool, don't wrap it super tightly around the spool and try to distribute the line evenly across the spool as you wind it. This will keep some string from getting "trapped" by other string as the layers of string pile up. 3) It seems unlikely but perhaps there's some damage to the black spool that the string winds around? You can buy new spools at Walmart and they come pre-strung. Those should be reusable, too, so you could buy one (or a 6-pack) and your problem will likely be solved. But pay attention to items #1 and #2 above when you go to re-string those.
Thanks so much! Trying to DYI as many things in and around the new house we bought as we can to save money and little tips like this make a huge impact on daily yard maintenance chores, keep these great videos coming please 😊👍

I agree with Rose (below). Not needing to depend on someone to help is very encouraging. Walmart was less than helpful with any information about how the reload could be done, or even what gauge string was needed. I got it right the first time!

A little bit of string will automatically be released each time you pull the trigger to start it. There's a small cutting device built in that will cut it to the right length.

How to just keep tension taught mine loosens up when using
I have this trimmer and have a problem with it catching long grass, vines, and plant stems under the string head. So far I have to use a skewer and my fingers to slowly work out what is stuck there. Is there a way to remove the head to access that area that you know of?
@FixEverythingYourself
Жыл бұрын
Probably the easiest way is to remove the 3 screws that are holding the black guard in place, then remove the guard. That would give you unobstructed access to the area of the head your talking about. I've experienced that with other weedeaters.
What it has 2 strings coming out 1 on one each side of spool.. to wack weed how do I change that kind please

Are you talking about taking the cap off and replacing the spool with one that already has string wound on it (so you don't have to wind the string yourself)? If so, the answer is yes! You can buy them at Walmart or get them on Amazon. Here's an Amazon link to replacement spools: amzn.to/3JpczBk
Am I able to use any string thickness and shape with this trimmer or am I limited to just .065" round?
@FixEverythingYourself
Жыл бұрын
The max thickness is the 0.065. Smaller diameter is okay if you can find it. Different types of 0.065" are okay. In fact, I recommend using something other than round because that often gets stuck in the spool.
When running this, do you have to push button to have more string out from time to time or does it automatically do it from time to time as trimming the yard?
@FixEverythingYourself
2 жыл бұрын
No, the string will extend a little at a time only after stopping it and restarting (or slowing it down a bit than speeding it back up). So if you see the string is too short, let the trimmer come to a stop, then pull the trigger to restart it. It extends a little bit each time.

Very helpful, thanks. Arthritis has rendered my thumbs less than helpful, so I am guessing a couple of screw drivers (one to press the button and one to slightly lift the cap while I do the same thing on the other side) will enable me to get some work done without having to wait for someone else to take off the cap for me. They sure aren't going to help with the work.

I have the electric one with dual string holes. I don’t have an issue replacing string, I just want to know how to remove the guard. Do you know? I don’t know what screws to undue to remove it.
@FixEverythingYourself

Is it the same or similar as the one in the video? If so, mine has three Phillips-head screws that need to be removed, and you access them from the underside, meaning from where the string spins.
I have one of these, but I can't seem to stop it from feeding more and more string. I'm loading it correctly, and I'm not sure why it won't stop feeding more string. That button is not pressed, so I have no clue. Was hoping to figure it out in this video, but I'm doing it exactly like shown.

@FixEverythingYourself

Make sure you're using ROUND string, nothing with any texture or twist in it. Also needs to be 0.065" diameter. The use of non-round string is typically the cause of this. Lastly, string is supposed to extend every time the trigger is pulled, not by bumping the head on the ground if you weren't aware of that.
Thank you.

If the string keeps coming out while operating, it's likely that you wound the string in the wrong direction on the spool. Try winding it the opposite direction.
I have the same model. All was great until the red spool cap wore out. Try getting a replacement - it’s not easy.

Are you referring to the red cap being loose? Or the black piece that the red cap attaches to is loose? Or something else? There's nothing that should need to be tightened.
How to pull out the stuck string from head?
@FixEverythingYourself

Take the bottom-most plastic cap off the spool head. There are two tabs (buttons) that need to be pressed at the same time to release that cap. Then you can access the string to remove it.

I want to know why mine goes thru the entire spool in about 10 minutes of use. Aggravating....
@FixEverythingYourself

Whenever you let off the trigger and pull it again, a small amount of string is released each time. Try using it while keeping the trigger depressed the entire time, even as you move from one spot in your yard to another. That "should" make the spool last longer.
Mines keep unwinding when i press the trigger
@FixEverythingYourself

Others have had the same problem. I'm not 100% sure this is the reason but try winding the string the opposite direction on the spool. That could be the problem. If so, let us know if that fixed it for others who run into the same problem. Thanks.
