Good old Illinois hardly give out permits for bobcats but hey keep as many grey fox as you can……makes sense 😮

Here in Alabama all trappers are required by state law to have a catch pole/choke stick with them while running traps. I use a 4 footer identical to the one you are using here.

Great job on the release of the bobcat hopefully the state of Illinois will start letting you all have some more tags. Here in West Virginia I am aloud to take 3 bobcats a year.

Thanks! Be a lot more catches in Ohio this year. Lot of cats showing up on trail cameras. I have only seen three in my lifetime in Ohio and two of those were Oct and Nov of 2022.

Illinois has too many colonist not a bobcat overpopulation ?

Its tired and it fixated on you as a threat so it thinks it needs to keep facing you and see what your going to do. It's probably so fatigued and confused by the ordeal. The problem with releasing its paw instead of releasing its soul is that come the next few days and weeks ahead, the same cat could find its way in your trap again.
