What lanyard do you use for your keys, I have close to the same amount of keys and most lanyards don't last. Thanks

Are you keying cylinders for more than just one or two locks? If so, you had better use a proper master key system, preferably designed by someone knowledgeable in master keying. This involves generating specific cuts on the keys to prevent crosskeying. Also, most locksmiths don’t pull the cap off of a new cylinder. If there is a concern with which pins are in the cylinder, just pull out the plug and dump everything. You can reload the pins and springs using your pin tweezers and a follower. It is also always best to use the “anti pick” pins, especially on mastered Kwikset. They’re easy to pick in the first place. Master keying just gives the picker more shear lines.

I apprecite your different strategy but it does seem like extra work to pull the bible when you have the keys already too. But why oh why would you not like anti pick pins? They add so much more security? Otherwise thanks for the vid!

I’ve only seen that on a very worn lock. But I wouldn’t use #1 masters on Kwikset anyway. It is not the best lock for master keying. Tolerances are too loose.

A master key is just another key it can be a totally random Key. as long as everytime you rekey a lock you use that key aka master key and the door key as well. Basically you are keying the lock to accept 2 keys

Yo tip to make it but more secure. If you have the same numbers from lowest to greatest like u had there no need to add a bottom pin. The more master pins you put in, the more sheer lines are add thus making it less secure. Example 5 and 2 were on top and bottom, just don’t add a master pin to that chamber

What if you want a Master key to work all locks in a building and then you have "A" key to work every lock in the building except the Master Lock. Then you need a "B" key to work every lock in the building except "A" and Master locks and finally a "C" key to work only "C" locks? How the heck do you pin this?! Thanks!
