That's a pretty clever method. I'm wishing I would have seen this before I did mine. Mine came out ok, but I didn't leave on the protective outer film nor did I tape the side so they wouldn't bow outward. Luckily they didn't bow outward on me. But like I was telling Paul 815, I like your technique, but I'd add a layer of duct tape all over the body prior to applying the resin to prevent the paint from stripping.

I had the same idea of doing this , I was just worried that when I crash it that it would crack or the resin would flake off .

Looks good. Did you have any trouble with the resin eating your paint? I've never done resin before but I've seen videos where the fibers pull off the paint. Thanks

I noticed a tiny bit, but I think the paint wasn't completely set yet. I used automotive paint, so it is chemical resistant.

Yes, the resin started to break down the Duratrax and Tamiya paints I used on my Porsche 911 GT body. I'd recommend laying down a layer of duct tape prior to protect the paint. I also used ShoeGoo to hold the fiber sheets in place before applying the resin. The only thing I'd add to his technique is the layer of duct tape to protect the paint.

Do you use epoxy resin? And the body is painted from inner side or outside?

How this the body hold up to a actual hit?
