Hi Nicki, yes you do. Your register as "location hébergement touristique" non professionnel with INPI and you get a SIRET number within 2 weeks.

Hi, thank you for this info. My wife and i just became homeowners in June on the suburbs or Paris. Were thinking of doing airbnb possibly starting in Dec or Jan. Since we are the homeowners do we still need to sign the form “Meuble de tourism”?

Hi @jnramusic , congratulations on getting this property! Yes, you definitely need to fill in the form, as some towns are restricting areas where there isn't enough long term rental. This form will be available online for Paris. Do the declaration de meublé first, then register the rental activity (professional or non professional).

Not sure what your question is? He could run this as a micro entrepreneur as he is Irish.

Thanks for your reply. Then do I submit that with the LMNP form? Or just keep it for my records? Do you have a contact email I might have?

Is there a fine if a gite is not registered with the mairie or as an LMNP?

The French Government is getting tougher on this and it was also a topic covered over the summer. Online platforms such as Vrbo and AirBnB request a SIRET number which can only be had if declared). They also inform the tax office of your rental income. Not being declared to the Mairie and registered as LMNP for non-professional or a business will be considered as tax evasion. Expect penalty fees if found out. For non-professionals (I.e non residents) it's easy not to be aware of this, but we can manage to back-date the registration pretty much up to a year.
