    As for Ccleaner (Not CC Cleaner), be careful not to mess around with the register fix. After installing and deleting programs, drivers, etc, there are some leftover register keys that aren't being used anymore. Ccleaner can delete those leftover keys, but it's risky and probably not worth the hassle. Deleting, adjusting register keys can render your system inoperable. This happened to many Ccleaner users using the register fix thingy. Ccleaner is great for deleting bloatware, temp files, unnecessary startup programs, etc. Just use it for that.

    "...and in Windows 8 there's a handy tab right in the task manager" I feel this was a step backwards in Win 8/10 for enabling/disabling startup items. Going down the list unchecking/rechecking boxes in MSConfig was far quicker/easier than having to right-click each item one at a time. Can't think of any specific examples right now but I've had to work on computers in the past that had issues, where I determined that a startup item was causing the problem but no way to track down which one other than disabling/enabling them in batches.

    I found that not even installing 3rd party solutions and just using the 1st party Disk Cleaner and Defragment and Optimize Drives just keeps my computer clean and fast just fine.

  • @D0J0P

    @D0J0P

    7 жыл бұрын

    Marko Milovanovic Yes, it's such a crappy solution. These programs butt into your task manager and system resources, they take up a lot, they're registerware/adware/whateverware, and are just crap software. Windows has so much of that crap software. That's why for Windows, just using the 1st party MS software built in is the best way to go. My computer is still fast on it's current install, and will always stay that way. Any slowdowns in the future will be due to age of the hardware, not software bloat. And on Linux on my other partition, I also don't install any cleaners. Linux cleans itself, so I don't have to do anything.

    Alright Guys here are some straight forward instructions, which I've been following for years. Believe me this WILL keep your PC at its best shape. 1. Please... Install your windows and all your software in a SSD. 2. Make 2 GB of your RAM as a "RAM DISK". Change your "Temp Folder" and "Browser Cache" directory to RAM DISK. 3. Clean and Defrag your Registry Everyday. Defrag immediately right after uninstalling any program. (This will take just a minute or less) 4.TRIM your SSD regularly and Don't forget to clean "Windows Residual". 5. Try not to fill up your Hard Drive Partitions above 60%. 6. Defrag your Hard Drive regularly. 7. Keep your PC Malware Free any means necessary. 8. And Finally... PLEASE STOP using Bull#@$& Antivirus Software, which is the number ONE Performance Killer. Just follow these instructions... You WILL see the difference in no time. Have some awesome time. Cheers!

    Raju Bai If you have common sense, then you don't need a third-party antivirus. You should be bright enough to not download any sketchy stuff, and if you do fuck up, Windows Defender should be enough. You honestly have to really try in order to fuck up your system.

    Only if you assigned the windows to wipe the drive with multi-sweep option. This should only be done if you have sensitive items in the drive. Otherwise if you just delete the partition, what it does is the windows forget where the old files are located. And rewrites new data on to the old one as you reinstall windows.

    great video been using ccleaner since i started working on computers (2007/2008) i use it on all my home computers use it when ever i work on a friend or family's computer and also use it at my job (im a IT guy for a place with 500 computers ) i have a video on my channel showing how to make a scheduled task that will run the program when ever the pc is in idle another thing it can do is find out what files are on your pc that are taking the most room and also find duplicates you can also disable stuff from start up and clean/fix registry errors it is by far one of my favorite programs ever i also plan on making a video soon showing my whole preventive maintenance scripts and things i use and do wile doing PM'S the script includes automatically creating a task to run ccleaner at 9am making a task to reboot the pc at 9pm clean/clear browsing history run a quick disk clean up gather a hand full of system info (pc name cpu hard drive size ram IP serial tag and more )ping for 60 seconds and then export all the info to a text file then it clears temp files its very convenient for doing PM's on a lot of computers (of course you can easily remove any part of the script you dont need and you can change the times the the scheduled task run or just remove the tasks from the ) so a quick run down of what i do i have the scrips on my flash drive so i pop it in run a script that makes a PM folder and copies my other script/files i want to that folder (i then remove the flash drive and plug it into the next pc and repeat ) then i go to the c drive folder with my scripts run it and as its doing that i can update and run AV (malwarebytes ) check for windows updates ect ect and by the time the malwarebytes update is done the script is usually finished then i can just email the txt file that it exported to our PM email address and then just check back on the AV scan later anyway if anyone is interested in that script let me know tho i do plan on making the video soon

    The difference isn't Windows vs. Linux but rather average Windows user vs. average Linux user. Windows doesn't slow down either if you know what you're doing. The thing is that to use Linux you have to know what you're doing, using Windows you _can_ get away with being an idiot. (That's why Linux is failing so badly in the desktop PC market-you actually need to learn how to use it.)

    Alberto Salvia Novella No, it doesn't. All it needs is for the user to not fill it with crap in the first place. The system can take care of itself perfectly fine, it's only poorly written programs which require user assistance. Linux is the same, only there are fewer programs overall and therefore also fewer poorly written ones.
