Thanks for this! I developed emetophobia during the quarantine period. It is starting to affect my life to the point that I cannot go outside our house without the feeling that I might be sick. This video might help me manage this irrational fear

Hello! I wanted to say thank you for these videos, they deserve so much more views! i’m currently going through a relapse and it feels like rock bottom. everyday i can be perfectly normal but something can feel “off” and it sends me spiraling. even if the color the sun reflects in my room is weird i’ll start panicking and take it as a sign that today, is indeed the day “it” will happen.

Hey, all of your videos really helped me a lot of times! In this period my anxiety got so bad after my ganpa died a few weeks ago. I always try to keep stuff positive and keep telling myself that i can pull myself together while other people can't handle extreme stress/anxiety, it gives me strength to think that now that i'm used to it to handle situations better than other people. That's what makes us as emetophobics strong! The fact that my anxiety got so bad worries me cause weeks before when my gandpa was still alive i had everything way better under control it wasn't even that much of a deal anymore! Guess i have to fight again but this time i'm better experienced with what i'm dealing. To everyone out there just remember, it will stop and get better, you will get back to your normal lives again! You got yourself a new sub💕 cheers!

Oh wow, I'm super glad I could help, that’s awesome! My condolences for your grandpa though, I'm very sorry to hear about that and it’s completely understandable that you should have an anxiety spike around such a difficult time… You’re absolutely right though, if you’ve fallen down once before, you already know what’s coming and so you already know how to pick yourself up again! Make sure you take your time with healing too. Good luck, you got this, go kick some emetophobic butt! 💕

It's all about reducing it to an extent where it can still be there but the effect it has on you is very minimal. Don't think I'd believe anyone who said they could cure emetophobia! No problem at all and that's fantastic, you should be so incredibly proud of yourself!!!

Alright, so, I'd recommend trying out the technique in the video, but if you want to start out smaller maybe try this - Write down these three things: -What am I going to do? -What do I think will happen when I do this? -Percentage of how sure I am of this happening: Answer these questions. Then, take something small that you'd be comfortable eating, like a piece of fruit or, bread roll, etc (start small) and eat it. See what happens and then write what the outcome was. This is a CBT techniche that massively helped me when I could barely eat/drink anything. You absolutely must write down and answer the questions though, that's part of how it works! Would also recommend making fruit smoothies/milkshakes because they're very filing and you can just slowly sip away without the worry of chewing. I hope this helps! 💕

Hey, that's awesome!!!! Well done!! You literally now have proof that it's possible to chill your emetophobia/anxiety out! Don’t worry that you can't say it out loud, that’s absolutely fine, don't push yourself. Just repeat it in your head for the time being and only start to say it aloud when you feel ready to do so. Honestly you should be so proud of yourself for taking that step forward!! I'm proud of you for even trying!! 💕💕

@@zero2859 ok, I've had this many times. So I'd recommend you start taking some really slow deep breaths. Breathe in all the air you possibly can, hold it for four and then breathe out all the air you possibly can and hold for four. I can tell you that (from prior experience) if you don't have any food, you're going to be more likely to have panic attacks and higher anxiety, because your tummys running on empty, but I know how difficult it can be to eat. Even something small like a piece of toast will help if you can manage it 💕

Why does it matter that you're a man? Phobias do not discriminate, anyone can have one. Emetophobia in particular is actually one of the most common phobias, but unfortunately no one talks about it. There's probably a few people you know (men or women) that have it and haven't said anything. No one is a wuss for having to deal with it, if anything, I think people are incredibly strong for having to put up with it - especially as it can get very dangerous if not looked after ☺️
