The solo podcast are great. Thanks for sharing
mEq is how we measure the concentration of electrolytes, something that breaks up in solution and has charge. Say you have 20 mEq of salt in water this is a solution containing 20 mEq of Na+ per liter and 20 mEq of Cl-, but the solution will not contain the same weight of each ion. 20 mEq is about 1.17 gram of table salt keeping in mind that you are getting the sodium from table salt which is more than 95% NaCl ( could do 1 scoop of Skratch lab/ hour exercise). If you ever need to plug in the numbers, mg = mEq x Atomic, formula, or molecular weight /Valence. M.wt. of salt or Nacl = 23 (Na+) + 35.5 (Cl−) = 58.5 and the charge is 1 for both in table salt. Hopefully this makes sense!
I wanted to meet you in Austin. I missed you. I met Matt Choi and Matt Johnson!
