ok heres a good one. if you have a HDD from a laptop, with Win 8 or 8.1, and you have the SATA USB cable (to connect it to a good safe pc) can the software determine the status of the OS on the drive? if the drive has a corrupt OS file, and, you want to copy the OS to a new SSD or HDD, wont the corrupt file(s) be copied to the new drive? does the 20 digit activation code get copied too? thanks

If you are technical, use Hirens Boot CD PE.

Hi there, using the chkdsk command, I tried to fix my external HDD but it didn't work. Initially, It seemed working by displaying the file system type (NTFS), however, the chkdsk process was ultimately aborted and a message pops out saying "the first NTFS boot sector is corrupt or unreadable". It then seems trying to read the second sector (displayed such a message) but again, it states that it's unable to determine its volume and state. Ultimately, I couldn't access my data. Any help ???

Hi Michael, the issue here is that, the external hard drive cannot be found in the computer when plugged. Note: the external hard drive shows light and vibrates normal when plug in a computer. I have changed the case, the cord and even the computer, yet we cannot still see the data inside the external hard drive. please help

To troubleshoot the issue with an external hard drive not being recognized, you can check the Device Manager to see if it is listed under ""Disk Drives"" and update its driver. If the device is not listed, check Disk Management for the external hard drive, initialize it and assign a drive letter by right-clicking on the disk, selecting "Initialize Disk," selecting the disk type and partition style, and then right-clicking on the unallocated space and selecting "New Simple Volume." My laptop, nor any machine will read my external hard drive. I can't run check disk on it or use tools in the properties tab; this leads me to believe that your software won't help because if my machine can't read the external hard drive to interface with your software, then your software is not going to be able to do what it needs to do correct?

@@OfficialKairosMusic what does that mean? This is my issue. My hard drive just does a buzz sound like it is trying to start up and then nothing. No light on it either like it has no power. My laptop acknowledges that it initially as you hear the sound it makes when you plug in something in the USB connector but that is it. You never see it in your windows explorer. So I don't know if this solution won't work.
