This is so insanely complicated but I appreciate your efforts to explain. I have always used a TP-8. Quality is not great but it does the job. The good thing about it is it works on a landline, google voice box, VOIP line, etc. And the biggest concern of all is that cell phones no longer have a headphone jack. Oops!

Yeah, totally agree - TP8 is the way to go for "offline" recording; else use an application. This is an edge case.

One question / comment. Cellphone is not designed to take amplified signal that digital recorder outputs, wouldn’t this method possibly damage the audio input on the phone?

For the (2) black and red splitters which go into the recorder, will any 3.5mm splitters work for this?

It must be one that splits the stereo channel into 2 mono channels.

Hi I Want to record a zoom meeting from my laptop using my UX570, but I want to record the meeting complete, with my voice. I use a headphone jafra that has a microphone integrate. Can you help me?

This is not easy. And it's hard for me to assist you as I don't know 1. what are audio in and out of your computer and 2. what is the audio out on on your headset? TRRS? There are several ways to achieve this, but the basic concept is to split the audio out of the computer into 2 - one goes to the recorder and the other to your headset. And then split the audio out of your headset into 2, one goes to the computer and the other goes to your headset. It's easier if your laptop has a 2 audio ports.

@@_weloty thanks you for your answer. I do the same connections that you mention in your video and it worked, but I don't know why when i recording with my headphones only listen by one side. Answering your questions in my computer I only have 1 audio port.

Glad to hear it worked for you. And yes, you will only get one channel to your headphone as the other channel is from your mic and if you output the two channels to your headphones you will get reverb. You can use a mono to stereo adapter that will duplicate the mono into right and left channels...

The pinned comment at the top of the video has links to all the cables you will need. Currently very busy, but if you have any specific questions let me know and I'll get back to you.

Ok some points you didn't cover in this video to make this work (sans non-faulty ebay cables working and set up correctly). First you need a phone with a large battery, like the one in this video. This method worked with a SAMSUNG smartphone but did not work with a burner phone (despite that burner having a TRRS splitter for hands free calls) with a smaller battery. Second you need to hit record on your recorder before you dial or the wires will not feedback back into the phone. The playback was ok (think callcentre quality) in split mono- and I noted my voice was in my left headphone and the right headphone was the person's voice I was calling. That said if you have a large Android smartphone just use the call recording app anyway?

Unless you have proof the olympus can pick up a phone with a smaller battery.

@@_weloty Thanks Weloty. I haven't ruled out the Olympus is different from the Sony as you CAN also use the Olympus ear socket for mic in as well as the mic in socket too! (like a trrs hands free call in a phone the Olympus has this option which might confuse the set up). Also yeah do say how the burner phone does or doesn't work. I believe the battery is too small on a burner. Thanks.

Is there a step by step direction available. The video is not helping show where all the wires go.
