    Shouldn't the knuckle be filled with grease too? I read somewhere is should be filled 2/3 with Valvoline Palladium. Please advise.

    Awesome video. Would the greasing procedures apply the same to a 1995 land cruiser?

    One note to this video. Correct re-torque of locking nut is not necessarily 21ft/lbs. Per FSM, you want a bearing preload of 6-12 lbs. I found 21ft/lbs to be too much

    Great comment. You could very well be right for normal street use. But, we have found for serious off-roading these bearings tend to loosen up. So we like to go with the 21 ft. lbs. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

    do you think 1 tube if that grease is enough for the axle? I'm rebuilding am 83 axle soon and I'm just gathering parts and stuff

    One Tube should be enough. However, you may want to purchase two just to be sure. You don't want to be stingy with the grease at any needed location.

    Are you sure the final torque on the bearing nuts is 4ft-lbs of torque? I remember reading it was 25ft-lbs or around that figure..

  • @lowrangeoffroad1

    +3stagevtec According the specifications we have, the torque on the bearing nut is 3 to 5 ft. lbs. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

    +lowrangeoffroad I was doing some further reading on this to verify. The inner nut final torque suppose to be around ~21ft.lbs. The bearing preload should not exceed 5lbs when checked via a pull scale. If I remember correctly, when I had purchased the Warn hubs, they came with instructions on how to torque the wheel bearings and ~21ft.lbs is what I had used. Have a check back and see if you mixed up preload and torque specs.. Rene

    Wow. I cannot believe it took us so long to make this correction. You are exactly right. The torque spec is 21 ft, lbs. And double checking the bearing preload for accuracy is also a good idea. I and many other viewers appreciate your help in getting this mistake corrected. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

    Isnt it really difficult to do a break job on such a car?

  • @lowrangeoffroad1

    @lowrangeoffroad1

    7 жыл бұрын

    Not really. This is a very standard Toyota disc brake job. Simply, take the lid off the master cylinder, compress the piston in the caliper, remove the two caliper bolts, remove the caliper, remove the old pads, set in the new pads and put it all back together. Don't forget to pump the brake pedal a few times after everything is back together to re-position the piston in the caliper. Other wise the vehicle will not stop at the first pedal application. Thanks for commenting.

    That u need to ask that question, yes is the correct answer.. Brakes are the most important function of ur car. You make a mistake, and they don’t work sooner or later, how will you stop?
