    One of the most practical and valuable videos from a freight channel on the internet. The level of detail is very helpful, thanks for taking the time to explain so well!

    Sales Tools Box is a necessity for my business. Thanks @Millisa for making this available for a reasonable one time price. I have used other software that cost more and charged monthly which did nothing to help me grow my business.

    How do you decide your different mark up percentages?

  • @MillisaNwokolo

    @MillisaNwokolo

    Жыл бұрын

    Great Question. Industry standard is 15 % - you can decide how you want your business to run. New Brokers might be between 10 % - 15 %, to gain business and industry experience. Then as someone improves in their niche trade, they will raise their service levels and be higher, this could be upward to 20 % - 25 % in some cases (dependent on the value you provide to your client). I hope this helps.

    So I have listened to this video so many times.... Why do you find carriers in the city the load is going to first, when working on a dedicated lane?

  • @MillisaNwokolo

    @MillisaNwokolo

    This is a term call “backhaul”, when you are able to find a carrier who wants to go to the desired delivery location oftentimes their pricing and service is better. I hope this helps!

    So you still charge your client the same? Just means you make more money from the load because you didn’t pay the carrier as mush as you should have?

    Sorry I missed this reply. I understand the backhaul but if the person lives in Loredo for example, how would they be in Ohio to get the load to begin with? @@MillisaNwokolo

    Carriers who live solely on freight load boards have the disadvantage and can never understand what o am speaking of. The majority of carriers that have been in the industry for more than 10 years have their customer (direct shippers). So you asked, how did he get to OHIO if he is from Laredo? Whirlpool is his direct shipper and the carrier gets direct freight to Ohio. Then, a “freight broker” gets him back to his customers freight. Ps. This video was aired pre-pandemic and is “not real l” market numbers. It is the concept for beginners to quote freight as a freight broker. Now there is a lot more to this and sometimes I have to call 400 + carriers to find a carrier who meets the “backhaul” market and needs this load to complete his circle or triangle, that includes his own shipper contract.

    @@timhuggins8174No! Your missing the whole point of this video. It is the concept and if your a carrier - your energy would be best suited have direct shippers and using brokers to position your truck back to your direct shippers.

    Hi there! This video is a “scenario” - it based on the concept of how to get rates by doing “dig” research 🔬 n a particular lane. I hope this helps.
