I spray my photos with Varathane sealer and ive never had a problem with bleeding. I cut the photo to size first, then make sure I’ve sprayed one side, let it dry, then spray the other side, making sure the raw edges are also sealed.

@@piggytsai2226 acrylic, which is water based.
For the laminating...my laminator allows to select between two settings for thickness. I use the thicker one, run the item face up, then run through a second time face down. After the second pass, while still warm and malleable, take tooth pick (or other blunt thing) to run right next the the edge of the photo, eliminating the SLIGHT "bubble" at the edges of the photo. You can cut a bit closer, and it doesn't have as much chance of showing a border around the picture. Just my take on it.

Why didn’t I find you years ago? I do a lot of work using a laminator and it never occurred to me that I could press the edges whilst still warm. That will make a significant difference to what I make. Thank you
OMG.. I'm so glad I ran across your page.. you just gave me a lot of tips for a beginner.. Thxs..
Great video, thanks for making it! I like that you tested both the real photo and the printed-out photo. Very helpful.
Too cute! I'm actually working on two projects right now that I need to add photos to, Thanks!
Thanks for the detailed information.
Well done I learnt a lot thank you .
Thanks so much Very interesting art
Thank you for this tutorial! A tip: I use laser jet printed photos to place on tumblers all the time with resin and do not have an issue. What I do is spray the photos with Polycrylic by Minwax which works well 😊

@@sherivegasartist You’re welcome 😊
Love all your videos. Thanks for sharing! I found inkjet resin photo paper no need to seal. It was more expensive, but time is $ for me. I make a lot of photo pendants
This was Very informative! Thank you Sherri 💜

You are so welcome!
Great Idea what is name of the seal you use
How much smaller then the mold do you cut the picture? And how much edge of lamination do you leave. Thank you for the video!
if youre using printed photos, put modpodge on first
Can we also laminate the modern can of photo to add to our resin??
Hello Sheri. love your videos. i did this with photo, but had big bubbles underneath and also small bubbles on top that ruined all project. i coated the photos with resin, tapped, but still got bubbles because of big area. how to avoid it?
Hi Sheri great video 😍 i just bought a laminator for this reson, iv only used tape before but you get lines if it's a bigger picture, that why i bought the laminator, can you put more than 1 picture in the pouches? Iv not took mine out the box yet 🙈 😂 thanks for sharing ❤️ xx
Hello. I am very new at casting with resin. (Got a kit for Christmas). I tried a few test pours and have an issue. Following directions for my resin and catylist. Did 2 small round coaster shapes. Both are clear on the bottom and sides but both have wavy lines in the top. Not bubbles. Actual waves. Even been on a lake in the winter where water has leaked up and frozen into little ridges. I know these can be removed with sanding and polishing but how do I get a smooth cast top ?
Thank you for your advice. The photos I use are approximately 50 x 40 cm. Whenever I put glue on the back of the photo, the glue spot on the photo is visible, that's why I don't glue it, and sometimes the photo swells after the resin dries on the photo. Please Guide me.
I laminate the photos, then I put in the candle and cover with the gell wax without a wick let harden and then add a wick on top add scented wax and it all good

That’s really and I never would of thought of that.
Do you think a baby sonogram will be ok to put in res
So if you don't have a laminator what can you use? Mod podge?
Is the normal printer picture printed on normal white paper or photo paper?
Lovely video. Can this be done without a laminate?

I put my laminated photos in my coaster molds & poured in my resin but there are big area of photos that was missing resin on top of photo. Can I fix this by mixing & adding more resin now that its set or is it best just to start over?
Ok I am not understanding, did you put resin directly to picture or did you seal it with the hot plastic 1st n then pour the resin on top of it? Which one …please answer me bc I really want to do a project w a picture ❤️🇵🇷

For this, I did seal it first with the laminator and then put the resin on top. This is a foolproof method If you do have a photo that where the ink would bleed when it was put in resin. But I did test to see if my resin would have any effect on the off cut of the photo and it didn’t. For most old school developed photos they can go direct into resin. But if you’re not sure it’s best to seal it
Another way to save having to draw on moulds is half or quarter fill it With clear and then you have the Perfect size template 😱😱😱😱😱
My issue is tiny pin hole bubbles. Does laminating help that situation?

Resin does the bubbling….so you Need a little (food) flame burner to heat an burst bubbles. It is very fast…glide heat back n forth…an bubbles immediately disappear…
I’m not sure I understand why you didn’t put the photo face down in the mold? This way you would have a very smooth rounded edge when unmolding.
So what is the name of the resin
You need to seal your photos before plopping them into resin. Spray fixative, Mod Podge, and other spray finishes.
