I just regularly clean my shelfs for dust and dirt and I have my blinds closed for most of the day. Buying bags just cost money I could’ve spent on manga hehehehe

Great tip! It is especially useful for those who have a sizable collection say 500+ volumes and couldn't keep up with dusting their collection every few months because it does get quite tiring.

I put my Manga in Manga Covers and Manga Bag, but mostly the Covers. I keep my shelves cleand and out of direct sun light (closed blinds + as far away from windows as possible)

I put my mangas in resealable plastic bags but my country has a very high humidity, is it ok if i add silica gel in my mangas?

  • @Ukev07

I bagged all of my manga. I use resealable (manga) bags and use tape (regular 'plakband') to fold/tape the excess plastic. I use multiple sizes of bags and they usually cost me 6-10 euros per 100 bags. I like how manga (especially omnibus manga) turn into solid bricks and I don't have to worry about shelfwear, creases and fingerprints/dirt. :)

I want to protect my manga from moisture and have ordered Manga Bags from Ultimate Guard. 🤔 However, I'm wondering if it's possible to craft my own "bags" and achieve the same effect. For instance, I could wrap the manga in a roll of plastic wrap and seal all the edges with tape. This would likely be more cost-effective, and the wraps would be truly airtight. Otherwise, I'd have to buy 100 bags for 10 different manga sizes, and none of them fit properly or have varying amounts of air inside. Not only does it look bad, but it's counterproductive if there's air trapped inside. I and many others have already done this, namely covering textbooks with this type of plastic wrap. It's essentially the same thing, right? 🤷🏼‍♂️ And I'm willing to take the time since I'd be putting them in a bag anyway. So, the duration isn't really an issue. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with my "issue." Thank you! 🙏🏻

Hey man im starting a manga collection, and your video was very helpful. Im dutch myself too, so i was wondering where you order your manga from? And another question, will my manga be safe if i keep it out of direct sunlight, i usually don’t keep too much lighting in my room and i have blackout curtains but i personally don’t want to wrap my manga with plastic.

I often order from bookdepository. Keeping the mangos out of sunlight already helps a lot. Just be careful with moisture :)

@@ArchAngelManga I purposely didn't do the 'blinds in front of ur bookcase' tip, because they're meant to be shown off imo. But if it's just one shelf, I understand that :)

I had my dragon ball volume 10 that was brand new and Snow White. I set it on my desk for 10 months and I ALWAYS have my blinds closed and hardly any sunlight gets in, so much so I use my bed room light durning the day time and after 10 months I went to put my manga up with my others that was in a box and my vol 10 turned yellow slightly! :( it was never in direct sunlight. The others that was boxed in the same room are all white still. I am going to get blackout curtains.

The idea was to read them and then seal them. The average reader doesn't reread their books that often. If you reread your books more often, you can get sleeves for example. Those protect the volumes, and you're still able to read them.
