    and if Yahoo and all others are hacked, what makes you think that small company third party software cannot be hacked or has some malicious code of developer inside it?? What if your hard drive gets wrecked? No backup, bad backup, cannot restore from backup? Most secure way is probably having it written in some papers or similar, and you can even use some tricks inside it.

    guyz, most secure way is having it written on paper. Now you should store at least 2 copies in your home of course and not in office, and use your imagination how you will do it. Some non important passwords you store in password manager

    I said in the video that if you choose a DIY solution like KeePass you need to take responsibility for backing it up, syncing between devices, etc. A solution like LastPass takes care of this for you. Any password manager worth its salt will encrypt the data using your master key; so even if it's "hacked" and the database stolen, it can't be used.

    I don't recommend writing passwords down, and most companies would consider it a disciplinary offence. I have (legally) got into a number of corporate networks because of written-down passwords. An electronic copy can be encrypted, backed up, shared with a team, version-controlled, audited, etc. A piece of paper is easily lost. If you only keep it in a safe place in your house you might not lose it, but you also can't log in to anything unless you're at home; and if you ever have a fire, flood, (pet?) etc. you are in trouble.

    I agree for office passwords. However, home passwords, I rather keep important ones on 2 papers and having multiple copies in home. Other non important I would keep in password manager. I think also biometrics authentication is good if it can be done on computer.

    This is very helpful. I recently got hack. Not sure how they do it but then got me added onto their Facebook page and used my card info that is saved on my own page and used it to their own page to crease an ads to their page. I got my account secured changed pass and email and set 2fa but few weeks later now i got shocked. I got an email saying that i granted something on KZread and when I checked my youtube they uploaded a video. I don’t know what to do now. I’m using a password manager and now i make sure to use a generated password. Can you suggest what more can i take? I reset my computer because the google activity shows that where i granted the access. Thanks in advance!

    Good advise on calling service back if they call you, but it it important to use a different phone if they called on a landline, there is a common scam where they call and keep the line open, you then call back the real number but the line hasn't been dropped, so you are still in contact with the scammer. Best option is to hang up and call from a different phone i.e., mobile etc.

    Thanks. It really depends on the software. You can get good and bad free software, just as you can get good and bad paid software. There's nothing inherently bad about it being free. Large chunks of the internet run on open source which is all free.

    Open source is software where the code itself is made publicly available for anyone. Not only can you (usually) use the software for free, you can modify it and build your own version. There's more nuance to the licensing than this, but the general idea is that it's a collaborative effort so anyone can improve the software and everyone shares the benefit. The most famous example is probably Linux - which a lot of webservers run on. The summary answer to your previous question is that the cost of software doesn’t necessarily correlate with the level of security. There is lots of terrible yet expensive software, and lots of great yet free software (and vice-versa).

    I've not used it personally, although I've heard good things. The free tier only allows up to 50 passwords, though. That sounds like a lot, but they add up pretty quickly. I have several times that number before counting any accounts I use for work!

    In theory, nothing. If they steal the data they shouldn't be able to read it without your master password and the provider should never have that. This is why I recommend a proper password manager that uses zero-knowledge encryption and I don't recommend saving passwords in a web browser. If hacked it's too easy to extract passwords from a browser.

    i'm here because all of the sudden,someone hacked into my facebook,then he somehow manage to do something to my internet so i couldn't go inside google.com,and i couldn't even verify the captcha because the hacker was so fucked up,then i did go into my phone on facebook and saw: someone from lithuania logged into your account,and it's so weird how simple someone can hack someone else computer for bad intention and for stealing data,that's why i came here,i got pretty scared honestly,but i uninstalled and installed again google chrome,and guess what? it helped and i changed my password and everything and now i think i am safe,i guess,but its not a likeable experience to face being hacked by a black hacker or something

    Thank you for the helpful information. Remotely installed mobile phone hacking software is used on people more often than you might imagine. I set traps on my devices in order to identify such activity. Can you make a 360 security video that covers all of our smart devices and personal computers as at one time or other they will be sharing information from one and another therefore if one becomes hacked all of our devices will have been hacked. My ideas: 1. Protecting your mobile phone from spoofed calls that download hacking software onto your phone by blocking all incoming calls and text messages except from specific numbers 2. how to screen attachments inside of text messages in order to determine if they are safe or not 3. Using a third-party security company to screen your calls, text messages and emails before you receive them. 4. Identifying signs that you may have been hacked. 5. how to determine if a second operating system has been installed on your mobile devices or personal computer's 6. Paying a professional hacker to attempt to remotely hack your smart devices and personal computers in order to determine if you're safe or not .

  • @ProTechShow

    @ProTechShow

    3 жыл бұрын

    As a general rule I wouldn't rely too much on built-in browser password management features. They're more about convenience than security. They tend to only work inside that browser, and the only thing protecting the passwords is usually the user account on your computer. If someone gets physical access to your computer there's a good chance they can get access to all of your passwords. It's better than reusing the same password everywhere, but a dedicated password manger should be more flexible and more secure.

    How we can know if our account is hacked

  • @ProTechShow

    @ProTechShow

    3 жыл бұрын

    For a personal account, the most common indicator is unexpected activity e.g. if your friends start receiving messages you didn't send, that's a good sign your account has been compromised. Your options to stay on top of it proactively will depend on the service, but a lot of them have an activity log where you can see every action you've taken. It's a good idea to review that from time to time to see if there is any activity you don't recognise. They may also have a log of where you've signed in from that you can review. If it's for a company where you need to monitor the accounts of loads of people then you may want to invest in a logging/auditing tool that can ingest activity logs from various services and provide automated analysis. Some products come with this, others need a 3rd party system, but it's often an extra cost regardless.

    That's definitely a good start, but it's not enough by itself these days. A lot of account breaches don't happen because you've done anything wrong - they happen because a 3rd party service you've used somewhere got hacked. You can check on haveibeenpwned.com if you're curious. If you put your email in it will tell you if it has spotted your account details in a public data listing. It only knows about some hacks where the stolen data has been made public, but it's amazing how many people can have their account compromised through no fault of their own and not even know about it.

    The website itself is safe. It tells you if your email address has been seen on a public breach. Usually this doesn't mean your Gmail has been hacked - it most likely means some service you're logged into using that email address as your username has been hacked. If you've used the same password on different accounts then you are at risk. If you're worried, just go and change your password. If someone has got hold of it already that will stop them using it to hack you.
