I’ve been doing this for about five years only difference is I use fabric softener.. I simply let it soak in the fabric softener for about 30 minutes let it air dry brush it out it’s good to go. I learned that technique from one of the Atlanta housewives hairstylist when watching the show one day.

😂😂😂 Meeeeeee but we're not "cheap", we just like to save our money when we can and avoid spending it on products when there's DIY options because I had some synthetic wig shampoo in my Amazon cart for 3 days and then thought to myself, (if you don't go to You Tube and find a DIY solution) so I'm currently heading over to Amazon to delete that shampoo in my 🛒 riiiight neowwww)😂
I wish I could have found this years ago! I’ve thrown away at least 100 wigs or more because I thought they couldn’t be brought back to life! Thank you so much for the money I’ll save in the future! 😊

I've never worn a wig but after a disastrous salon visit, it became a necessity :( Finally found one I love but it's getting a bit musty now and I had no idea how to wash it. This was SO HELPFUL!
I wash my wigs on quick wash, no spin and drip dry. Was told to do this by the older women when I was younger. Makes since, a wig is something you wear.
Save a wig! Save a life yess Thank you so much for this video! Now instead of trashing my wigs I can save them!! 🙏🌹🌹

Excellent information and demonstration! TYSM! I had no idea I could use laundry detergent and fabric softener. No more money spent on expensive wig products! You're the best!
your video has helped me save my wigs! thank you girl! 😭💖
hey, thank you so much for the tips. especially on explaining how too much product can make this hair stiff. that was my main issue. Im use to human hair wigs, but this pandemic has caused my supplier to experience crazy shipping times, so i went and purchased a synthetic wig that is just gorgeous, i didnt want to give up on it after a couple weeks so i started doing my research. thanks again ! my wig is exactly how it was when i first purchased it. OH, also i realized that i didnt have to chop my ends, i applied some heat to the ends curling them with my curling wand and all is well ...
Thank you so much I was given a few synthetic wigs for my drag and I’ve been very curious on how to wash them. Thank you!
Good video. It's good to revamp synthetic units, I've been doing this for years. I have synthetic pieces up to 5yrs old. This is the best technique 👍🏾
Thank you for actually explaining what happens after the hair soaks. First time owning a wig and I’m like…okay what’s next??? You’re the best!

Thank you for this tutorial. I haven't seen these steps. I liked and subscribed. Lovely presentation! 🤗
I use a cheap shampoo like Herbal essence mixed with some apple cider vinegar, then I rinse and then condition the hair in some water with fabric softener. I leave it to soak for about 3-5 minutes, then rinse out completely. Leave to dry and style accordingly.

Thank you so much for this video I know I’m very late to the party but I had splurged and bought an expensive human hair lace front with when I first lost my hair to chemo and the white woman that sold it to me cut all the lace off said I didn’t need it. I was asking my Black friend about the lace and she said never to trust white women about wigs (jokingly) and ask if she pushed me to buy the special shampoo conditioner and other stuff and I said yes. She said please go watch your YT channel before I waste any more money and I’m so glad I did my synthetic wig just looks as amazing as the day I bought it. So thank you truly for teaching this newbie a thing or two (honestly more than I can count). ❤
hello. did you flatiron this wig or something after it dried ? if so does the temperature of the styling tools still matter even after this process ? and do longer lengths have to stay in the water longer ?
