Yes! 👏🏼👏🏼 this worked perfectly on my 2020 Acadia Denali. I purchased the vehicle with only 1 existing fob and ordered a 2nd fob from eBay for $20 (instead of $100+ from the dealer). This worked just as you described to program the new fob and reprogram my existing fob. Both fobs were working after completing the process (DIC will display “Ready for Remote 1” then “Ready for Remote 2,” if you have a 2nd - or 3rd or 4th). Thank you for the step-by-step tutorial!

For me, it erased both of the key fobs like it erased the one that I already had that I got with it cause I was in the same situation when we bought one and I tried to program it, but it erased the first one

Thank you for this video! Worked for my 2017 gmc Acadia slt2! *my fob just quit working, tried replacing the battery. That didn’t work. Ordered a new one off Amazon and followed these steps and it worked. *I did have to have my original fob also in the vehicle when programming the new one.

We have only one working remote (with working emergency key) for our 2019 GMC Acadia SLT and we've purchased a new additional remote ACD# 13508275. Do I follow the same instructions in your video for our new remote to then have two working remotes, or do I also need to reprogram the old already working remote also? Thanks

You will just need to re-program in your old remote fob during the procedure, as if it was a new one. So you will do the procedure just like the video but then, If you look at the steps in the description box of the video or in your owners manual, you repeat steps 4-6 for each new remote fob.

Yes and Yes. This procedure will erase all previous fob sand they will need to be re-programmed. If you look at the steps in the description box of the video, you will repeat steps 4 - 6 after the first fob is programmed

Can you take the original cut key and use that in the new fob? I still have remote- dealership is saying it’s faulty

So i bought a used acadia 2017. I have 2 remotes/key fobs. My remotes say driver 2 and 3. How do i reprogram no.3 to be no. 1

No it will not

For some reason I can find NO videos for a procedure to replace just 1 of the 2 key fobs. They're all about adding a 3rd, or replacing both. Am I the first person every to only need to program one key fob?

No, you are not. I'm in the same boat. My wife and I recently purchased a 2019 GMC Acadia Denali. It has one working remote and one that is bad.

You can, but it needs to have been unlocked as these lock to the vehicle after programming. Just be sure the Ebay listing specifically says "unlocked" "flashed" "guaranteed programmable" something along those lines

Programming a second key will usually resolve that issue

So I just did this yesterday on a 2017 GMC Acadia Denali and it was working I started the car twice but as of this morning the fob only locks and unlocks the car but it won’t start it even in the slot in the console. Any ideas why?

No - you need at least 1 cut emergency key

it doesn't matter either way but I usually try to put it back in the fob just so it doesn't get lost

I have one original programed remote (driver 1) with a cut key and I purchased a replacement remote since I lost the original remote for driver 2 . Do I have to reprogram both remotes or can I just program the new one for driver 2 only?

You need two working remotes in order to be able to use the "add a key" procedure - so you will need to reprogram in your original as it will be erased after the new one is programmed. If you look at the steps in the description box of the video, you need to repeat steps 4-6 for your original remote after the new remote is programmed.

@@kenheidenberger850 Most automotive locksmiths should be able to do it as well. Since you already have an existing key to copy from the Part's Department at Dealership might not actually be more than a locksmith - I would call both. Also just to clarify - in your situation you can use the emergency key out of your existing fob to get the vehicle into programming mode. Its a good idea to have the key cut on your new one but its not necessary for programming.

I have a 2018 GMC Acadia SLE. I want to reprogram the alarm system to set 5 seconds after I leave my car. When I purchased it the alarm system worked after I Closed the door 5 seconds later the alarm was set. I Forgot What I Did. Could You Assist Me?

If the vehicle was built in the Canada then I would guess that is the issue. The programming is almost always different on vehicles built for use outside of the U.S market.

2017 GMC Sierra, its not a smart key, just a unlock fob, any idea?

Unfortunately if you have just a regular fob, it is not on board programmable and you will not be able to do it yourself.

Woke up today and my fob will flash my car head and brake lights when i push the Lock button But it won’t move the door locks , also when I push the lock buttons on the doors they don’t do any thing , will this help fix my problem?

It sounds like the vehicle is recognizing the remote if the lights are flashing so I'm not sure re-programming the fob will help. Does the vehicle start?

@@PYR-Auto it does start once I’m in the vehicle , but must use the push to start button that’s mounted on the dash beside the ignition. Also both my key fobs started to work randomly a few hours later , and have done the same thing two times since , where they just randomly stop working for anywhere between 10 minutes and 12 hours. Changed the batteries , no help.

What if you have 1 working FOB... will this reset it and have to program it again?

When I waited the first 10 min my display was off. I opened and closed the door, and the only thing that displayed was the milage.....
