I've never heard of sublimation printing so thanks for teaching us something new! I can't wait to see what you decide to make with that fabric. It's so pretty! A picture I found on graphic stock is Doodles Background with Colorful Tree Vector Illustration
Just a tip, next time you bring in your graphics to photoshop, make sure the setting is on CMYK versus RGB :). CMYK is for print and RGB is for web, that might help with the colour when you print. Awesome tutorial!

+LittleMissSunshine Sometimes you have to use RGB if the colors don't come out perfect with CMYK. But that mostly applies if the printed design has image elements, where I worked we used Pantone colors for the vector designs so it didn't matter. With images we had to save it in RGB a lot of times because the colors didn't come out as vibrant as it should have.
Hi April!! I absolutely love your videos! I saw you at school once (not going to say which for safety reasons), but I was so star-struck I couldn't even talk 😭. You're awesome!!!
That print is beautiful! I see pillow covers, a skirt, maybe dress? So cute!
I'm in love...those colors are my favorite this video is the bomb...thank you....what if you need this for larger fabrics...and would outsourcing be less expensive........love this
AHHHHHHHH!!!!! This is soooooooo awesome!!!!! Wow... keep it going, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how you have so many creative ideas for everything... Literally.... I tried all of your DIY's and everybody complimented me on your diys that I did... I just tried the 7 day trial.... I can't wait!!! I really like this design: Sketch Of Lipsticks Isolated On A White Background. Vector Illustration Stock Image... It would look adorable as a canvas tote bag... also because lipstick is bae ;D...
It came out beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
That print is gorgeous!
This is amazing! I learned a lot, thank you for all the info! :D
thank you for this video! I needed to know how to do this for my gcse mock exam and you helped me learn this! thanks again x
This is awesome. Hopefully I'll get to try it someday. xxx
are you gonna use the fabric for a future project?
this is AMAZING!! It would be so awesome if you could show us more printing techniques!
You should show us how you use that new fabric because I think it looks amazing!
im a university student and THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO DO!! Thank you so much for this video :)
+coolirpa are these dyes permanent once transferred to the polyester fabric? do they bleed or need special washing?
Cool technique. I learned something new.
You are my inspiration, I wished I was as talented as you

i love how you sounded like Dr.Sheldon Cooper at the beginning.. Big fan of you Ms.April ❤❤❤
Hi april! I was wondering what school you go to or what course you are taking because ever since I saw your videos I've been incredibly inspired to continue on my dream of fashion design. I'm in high school right now and deciding what to do for post secondary
Wish I had that machine when I did sublimation for my high school major project...painting on special paper (a4)and transferring by hand was so time consuming and difficult since i wanted a gradient effect as well

Don't forget if you are using words in you're print that they are flipped/mirrored so you can read it when it is transferred to the fabric :)

So I got a Epson et 4700 to do sublimation. Is there anyways I can sublimate on darker colors and fabrics that I see myself ? Like fabric for hoody’s and stuff... and do you know a website that sells fabric by the yard for sublimation by any chance ?
You should do a video on that ice cream dress that you made
Nice!!
What are you going to do with that fabric
So cool! :)
cool!!😊
I would like to dye sublimate a long sleeve polyester shirt from one sleeve - and around that sleeve - then up around and wrap the upper back and shoulder and around to the chest. How does one accomplish that kind of dye sublimation?
wow that's so amazing! i want to check out what my school has to offer haha

should you do this at home if you do not have a school like that closes to you?
whoa thats nice
How many washing times it will last? Is it resistable for this kind of situation?
Can you tell me what kind of sublimation printer and heat press that is?
Can I wash the fabric after this process? Or will the ink wash away? PS. Love you videos😉💞

+Andrea Román It won't if you don't use unnecessary chemicals. We used sublimation on swimsuits where I worked so... :)
can you please be on the next season of project runway?
I wish my college had a sublimation printer!!!!
Wow fantastico :D
Neat.
Nice
Hi! Is this the same process for a spiderman suit?
Does the color fade when it gets washed?
How is washing the fabric afterward? Does it have to be dry cleaned or hand washed? Or can you throw it in the washer?
@viviennart
8 жыл бұрын
+electiclovex3 Depends on the instructions of the fabric you use. But sublimation is used on swimsuits so washing is fine, but you have to follow the instructions.
WOW
Which printer and paper did you use?
when you wash it does it fade easily?
how resistant is this process when getting washed?!
What happens when you wash the fabric after this?
wooooow
Can you please do a thrifted transformations on a rapunzel
cooool
How will the winner be chosen for the giveaway?
what college do u go to and what is your major
Where do u get it printed and how much does it cost
Is this how they do with mens printed shirts?
are you going to make anything out of it?
Is the ice cream dress not on KZread?
What did you end up making with this lovely piece of fabric? 😊

+coolirpa what did you end up making? 😉💕
can you wash it normally?
When you wash it in the washing machine, does the colour comes off?
@viviennart
8 жыл бұрын
+Wafiqah Ismail It shouldn't come off. Where I worked we used sublimation for bathing suits, waterpolo caps and a few dresses.If you have the good quality supplies and use them properly it'll stay on. And of course if you follow the washing instructions.
Is this silk or polyester?
Sailor Moon Sublimation.
I use this method of print all the time and the fabric don't necessary needs to be 100% polyester. with 75% up it will transfer ok, not as vibrant of course..
If you used CMYK for print, it'd be brighter. RGB is reserved for screen. ;)

+Liza Soliman If you print images and the colors aren't right you can use RGB. I know because we had a lot of issues with colors where I worked.
@lizasoliman723
8 жыл бұрын
+viviennart I'm a graphic designer, print is CMYK regardless, it's not a debate. The issue your work could have had was the balance of your monitors, making CMYK look 'wrong' when printed.
@viviennart
8 жыл бұрын
Liza Soliman I'm a graphic designer too. So what? We used RGB for images a few times when we had to. It was for sublimation and if the colors aren't the right ones it looks a lot worse on the material at the end.
@lizasoliman723
8 жыл бұрын
+viviennart Dye diffusion is a completely separate process from regular printing, with a lot more to consider. Again, you might need to recalibrate the monitor if you have 'a lot' of color problems. In any case, standard printing is always CMYK. Industry standards are standards for a reason.
@viviennart
8 жыл бұрын
Liza Soliman I wasn't talking about standard printing since this video is about sublimation... And it has nothing to do with the monitor, it's not about how it looks there. It's about the end result. If the colors aren't right it will show a lot more once it's on the material. Sometimes when we imported a vector design into the program we used for the final patterns and printing the vector just fell apart so we had to save it as a JPG. And sometimes we had to do it in RGB. That's what I was talking about. We did the same when the program couldn't save the PDF file properly so we had to save it as an image then print it out. I did not mention Standard printing at all.
Hey just to let you know that it's actually against KZreads rules to do giveaways from people commenting on your video... Or it was last time I checked! It's best to use something like RaffleCopter for giveaways
What school do you attend?
Do it work on others fabrics such as silk and cotton
