I too buy avocados when they're hard; I never buy them ripe -- just too risky. I put them all in the fridge crisper, and only take them out one or two at a time to ripen. To ripen, I put them in a closed brown paper bag and set it somewhere warm for 1-3 days. I had a horticulture prof who told us that researchers had shown that the brown paper bag was better than any other method. The researchers hadn't figured out exactly why, though they had lots of theories. Maybe they've figured out why by now -- I took Hort eons ago! Thanks for a great vid!!

I mash up the avocado and mix in plain yogurt and lemon/lime juice. Then I chop up a lot of grapes and add them to the mix. I think it makes a great fruit salad.

Use avocado, cucumber, yellow onion, red onion, tomato, jalapeño pepper, lime juice, cilantro, salt and pepper to taste and about 1 or 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil! :) The best guacamole I’ve ever made thanks to “la capital” you tube channel 💕💕 Use habanero instead of jalapeño for that extra kick of deliciousness 🤤

You can freeze the avocado whole as is, in the freezer and pull it out, unthaw it and eat it, it keeps the texture and colour. That is, If you have too many ripen up fast. I keep mine in the fridge and pull it out when ready to eat and it seems to slow the fast ripening process for a few days. Your tip is good too. I’ve Saran wrapped the half cut avocado and it keeps it the fridge for a few days.

not necessary to squeeze the avocado to see if it is ripe. all you need to do i find the stem mark on the avocado, looks like a button, and put pressure on it. If there is a bit of give the fruit is ripe if not the avocado needs more time to ripen . This method ensures no damage to the avocado.

I make avocado vinaigrette dressing... mashed avocado with your favorite seasonings (I like cracked pepper, onion and sometimes cayenne), then slowly add in apple cider vinegar until it is the consistency of a creamy dressing. Let it sit a bit for the seasonings to mingle (usually just the time it takes to make my salad) and serve. yummy

Near perfect except the lime-lemon/juice. People think this keeps them from turning brown...it doesn't. The best way I've found is to toss the seeds in the bowl with the mashed avocado. Especially if it's out as a dip, I've seen people pour lots of lemon juice and all it does is taste like lemon.

Helpful video, lady. Thanx. Here's some info that can help you and yours, too. Please share it. Our filthy gvt has been torturing and killing our helpless pets and loved ones, using our devices. Many yrs ago, my little short haired blk and tan mini doxy started having violent seizures every month. We took him to vet aftervet and they gave him meds that didn't help. I changed his diet, changed his water, and nothing helped. Sometimes the seizures were so bad he almost died, and we had to rush him to the vets to save his little life. I always cried and prayed when he had these seizures, because it hurt me so deeply to see my baby suffer so bad. Well, about a yr ago, my husband and I were sitting here in our living room and we heard his cell ph make a strange, hi pitched but quiet noise it never made for any reason, and IMMEDIATELY my dog started having seizures! I have been targeted over 30 yrs and never thought that the sick freaks could be deliberately CAUSING the seizures, BUT THEY WERE! I couldn't believe that someone could be so heartless and cruel that they could do such a horrific thing to a helpless little dog!! But they DID! The seizures stopped that day, and a week later my babydog went BLIND. I was heartbroken AGAIN, to see my bay walk into walls, fall down stairs (till we blocked them) and get lost behind a door or the couch!! HEART BREAKING!! His little organs swelled up inside of his belly, and the vet said it was his pancreas. My baby got very sick a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. He was vomitting, had the runs, and refused to eat for me. He was being SHOCKED every hour, night and day, and neither of us could get much sleep. I busted agents AGAIN, using the speakers on this PC to put out FREQUENCIES, hurting my little boy! I unplugged the speakers and then busted them again, using the built in speakers to emit these dangerous frequencies!! I shut down the pc and could still hear a high pitched whine coming directly from the MONARCH TOWER LLC across the street! My baby got so sick he couldn't even lift up his little head anymore and he died in my arms THANKSGIVING DAY about 4pm. I AM HEARTBROKEN and I miss my babydog terribly! THE SICK FREAKS TORTURED AND KILLED HIM just as the had the three prior to him before I realized what they were doing to us!! They are doing these horrific things to HURT US. They are sick satanist freaks who ENJOY hurting helpless, innocent people and animals that cannot defend themselves! Let me also say that they tested other bioweapons on us as well, which cost the life of my longhaired doxy, and nearly cost my life as well, a couple yrs ago. The sick freaks have put nanotech systems in the shots, masks, tests and swabs, and then using the towers to manipulate and control those systems inside the victims. They are also CAUSING inf, disease, organ damage and death w frequencies! WATCH YOUR DEVICES and keep vol low or off and never sleep near any devices!! These sick freaks MUST be stopped! They are deliberately killing us and our loved ones. This is ALL deliberate!

I freeze olive oil pesto with the herbs I get from my garden. The only thing you have to remember is to leave headspace on the jar put oil on top of the mixture as well and push Saran wrap all the way down to the surface. I tried this as an experiment and left one jar for a whole year in the freezer and it came out perfectly beautifully green and tasting awesome. I also substitute other nuts for the Pinon nuts and most of the time leave the cheese out, now all the time since I'm going vegetarian. Good luck

Good question Grace, I'm honestly not sure. Are you thinking pressure canning? Avocado can definitely be made into a pesto (sounds amazing!) and keep in the fridge or freezer that way. my only concern with canning is making sure you avoid botulism, either with an acidity or by pressure canning. I'd love to know if you try it!

To get almost ALL the air out of the bag before freezing, fill your sink with water. prepare and bag your avocado (leave the zipper open a bit). Lower the bag into the water up to the zipper, and seal the rest of the way.

Don't discard the pit! I planted mine and have an avocado tree growing in my yard! There are lots of videos to show you how to do that.

Good, now graft a variety on top otherwise you'll have a tall lanky tree that will take longer to produce.

The pit contains huge amounts of vitamin C. it can be roasted then chopped up in a blender. If you have a vita mix machine, it will pulverize that great seed then add to smoothies, soups or whatever you want.
