I need to start looking at everyone. I was so consumed with USA prep that I hadn't paid attention to the other countries getting crowned. I think my opinion right now would be very misinformed lol.

Do you have to be a titleholder of your county or city before you become eligible to join state pageant?

Filipino Archmage no, although some states have local competitions that can cover state sponsorship fees as part of your prize package, it’s not required to win a local to be eligible for the state pageant. We don’t have any locals in Montana. It’s hard enough to get contestants interested in a state pageant.

So helpful! Thank you Dani. I have one more question.. for the Miss MT USA pageant, how many different outfits do you need to bring? For check-in, rehearsals, etc...

Really great question. Every state pageant is different, but for Montana I only had one outfit for check-in, that I wore for rehearsal as well, because orientation is quick. Later I changed into interview. The next day, I had one outfit to wear to the venue, but we quickly changed into our opening number dresses. I took my swimsuit, gown, then one outfit to wear after the pageant to dinner with family. In total, the max I needed was 3 outfits, aside from competition wardrobe, but you can get away with 2.

What’s the difference between America vs. USA interview?

America is more focused on current events and controversial issues, as well as the social impact initiative. At Miss USA they asked us some current even questions but it's more focused on our goals and personality.
