Dani - I’m entering a pageant in a few weeks, and I’ve been watching your videos like my life depends on it. Quick question - can I crack a joke during the interview? Ours aren’t timed so we have that luxury, but I simultaneously do not want to come across as though I don’t take the pageant seriously. If anything, I’m trying to diffuse the tension. What’s your advice?

Thank you Dani. I compete this time next week for Ms Great Britain and I found this really uplifting and reassuring. This is the first time that personal interview is not question led so I have had to prepare in a very different way to confidently talk about myself for 2 minutes. HI!! I love your videos. I'm competing in my NAM state pageant in the Pre-teen category this August and I have small yet noticeable acne and I'm not allowed to wear makeup due to my age division. Will my acne affect my score and chance of winning?

interview Thank you soooo much for these videos, they are helping me prepare for my state pageant coming up!!!! I need a few more tips on how to speak in an interview. My problem is that I always restate the question and I have heard that judges don't really like when I do that and that it takes up more time. Can you please give example interviews so it can give me an idea of what to say and please give tips on how to start an answer and end one.

What you say is totally dependent on your personal brand. Everyone's answers should be different in an interview. Here's an example, without repeating the question. Ex: What's your best character quality? I'm dependable. Growing up as an only child, and living on my own since the age of 20, taught me a lot about accountability. I diligently keep a schedule on my phone and live by the saying, "15 mins early, you're on time. You're on time, you're late." My friends and co-workers know this about me and trust that they can depend on me when they need it. Don't go into it with a nervous mindset, that's not setting you up for a great interview. Think positive about the experience.

Interview: last question on final(stage question)

I have a question and it’s not relating to this video but it is relating to National American Miss. I’m competing for the Maryland title this year but they combined Maryland and Virginia pages does that mean that there’s only gonna be one representing both states are they going to pick who wins I’m just confused and maybe you can answer this question.

Even if the state competitions are combined, there will still be a state queen crowned for each state. A new Miss MD and VA will be crowned.

Hi Dani! I really want to do a pageant this year but I’m having a hard time finding a pageant in my state and I don’t want to be the only one there lol! Do you have any recommendations for me because NAM is too expensive for me to afford. Thanks!

Pageants can be quite pricey. I recommend getting pageant sponsors and I have an episode all about that. Idk you state but there may be other pageants there. I just ate fish and veggies. I drank water, tea, and occasionally juice. This slimmed me down even though I couldn't be consistent with working out from travel and because I got very sick a month before the pageant.
