    1.Never even thought of body language for interview. I do well for on stage interviews but notice my scores tank for the closed room kind. Might need to look into my body language. 2. i won a state pageant with my bun falling apart during a high fashion style evening wear during my teen years. i never even noticed it until my mom tried to fix it after crowning. my focus was how my gown made me feel amazing

    Interesting. I'd try to ask for scores too. You could also lack content in interview. Most girls speak but don't actually tell me anything about themselves. It's bizarre to watch.

    Hey Dani can you make a video about your pageant competition history and how long it took you to win your state title and how you dealt with losing ?

    Yes, body language is so important! I’ve been paying attention to it in my pageant prep. I just finished reading the book Presence by Amy Cuddy, such a good read and helpful for pageant preparation.

    Wow, I never even considered the potential aspect of judging a contestant! That's really reassuring to know. Thanks for the great video, I'm already prepping for the 2020 MTU/Miss USA pageant season (I know, already?!) and your content has been a great help to me. 😄

    I NEVER thought about it either, but it's something a lot of directors have mentioned to me before judging. They don't want us to just focus on that one day but more so on how the girl can change with some help. There's a fine balance.

    I've competed in Rodeo pageants and stuff and I can see where body language is really important because I've watched videos of myself in horsemanship impromptu, modeling on stage and at some point when i didn't have enough positive body language about myself, it really shows👀

    In the spring I’m going to be competing in a pageant with over 50 girls. The age range is 14-24 but I’m 13. I got accepted despite my age. My goal isn’t to win, but to get into the top 15 and possibly a 4th runner up title. My main goal is to get into the top 15 really. I feel like I’m good, but other than my age I don’t stand out too much in pageants. This video helped me so much.

    Good question! I am running for Miss Idaho USA in the fall - I have had short hair my entire young adult life and don’t know if I’ll be able to afford getting hair extensions? Do I grow my hair out to try to make it look more standard for the pageant or do I keep it short?

  • @DaniWalker

    lyssa ann schei you don’t have to grow your hair out but some contestants look better with longer hair. It depends on how you style it.

    I’m competing in a Miss America’s Outstanding Teen local pageant this weekend. In interview, I’m the last person to go. Any tips to make a lasting impression? Any tips for OSQ?

  • @DaniWalker

    @DaniWalker

    5 жыл бұрын

    The order you go in doesn't matter. It's about practice, presenting content and purpose. Preparing your closing statement as well. MAO is tough in OSQ, you need some great info to back up your answers. That comes from doing your research on current events so you can present an informed opinion. Best wishes to you!

    Kyra Hobaica I don’t think it’s so much about doing something extra to attract them. For me, I love girls who do less. Girls who aren’t frozen, ones that don’t pull at their hair, someone who can look me in the eye.
