thank you for your review! i saw someone recommend this book under a pinterest post and was curious about it. every day, i take the bus to class. during that one-hour trip, i take the time to appreciate our lord's creation. i see the beach and the beautiful sea, the clouds drifting by, and the trees that change with each season. all these things make me immensely thankful for the lord, and i pray to never lose the ability to see light and beauty when this world is filled with darkness. there can be light if we remain in him. god bless you!

Whenever I am outside and it is cold, I thank God that I will get to return home and become warm again. I like to think of this as foretaste of the relief of fully returning to God's presence in heaven.

Adding various "praises" and "thanks" to God throughout the day is a good starting point. Many of us take for granted the myriad of modern conveniences such as instant access to water, food, shelter, heat, AC, toilets, transport, etc, etc. that people 100- 200 years ago would have thought miracles. In many ways we are very blessed and those blessing are there for us to grow even greater in our wisdom and experience of God. Reading or memorizing some of the Psalms also helps put us in that attitude of praise and thanks. Just look at how rich the last 5 Psalms (145-150) are in that Praise genre. Also i think in one of them King David states: "Your praise will be continually on my lips" and "Seven times each day I will stop and give you praise".

I'm part way through this one, but I'm really enjoying the early chapters encouraging you to just hand things over to God's providence, and to find holy moments in even the most mundane aspects of our life. It's so easy to fall into a pattern of haranguing yourself over sin or to make a hierarchy out of your own life where some things are holy and others are profane. In reality, we can trust God to deliver us out of things in his own timing and always be close to him even if we're washing dishes. I think these types of writings unlock the humble Christian joy that I've been seeking in my faith and wish to express to people.

I've been following your channel for a while. Your videos are incredibly well done because it's so simple and straightforward. I love reading spiritual classics and collecting Catholic books too as a bookworm myself (the channel title drew me to subscribe many months ago). I will take time to read Brother Lawrence's book. I've had it in my files for a couple of years now. I agree with your review because I tried reading and felt the ideas weren't too new just like you mentioned. Keep sharing. God bless you

Another great review Elisabeth! There is very much a place for 'simple' books as they often contain much wisdom that can be expressed in an uncomplicated way. May I recount a story of God's beauty that I saw yesterday. Driving home from Church I saw a beautiful cloud formation that made me think of God as an artist. It certainly was something that made me praise God for His wonderful creation! Once again thank you Elisabeth for what you do on this channel. May God continue to bless you! 🙂🙏

Whenever someone at work says something abhorrent or gets angry I always speak in a loving way to our Lord. I am caught up tonight with videos, I was working on getting my book ready, my Deacon is going to read it and possibly some Priests. I am ready to share and gain further insight. Pray for me Elisabeth, God bless.

Thanks for your review, Elisabeth. To love God, one needs to know Him. To know Him, one needs to learn from Him. The best way to learn from Him is to converse with Him habitually or constantly. I may take this "little way".

I had similar experiences reading this book. I think that the spiritual life is a progression in development and growth, and in the early days we need milk and honey and victuals suited to our temperament, but having once got some strength and maturity and begun to advance, even partially, we need the harder food to sustain growth and challenge and nourish continued development. Not that we can't benefit from taking a step back to reread or meditate upon the truths which inflamed our young early faith, but that we cannot remain there lest we falter in our maturation and stagnate. A little book I find useful is "Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence" published by TAN. It always does me great good. Wonderful channel of yours! Keep up the good work.

Like you I had heard of the ideas, and ever since I had heard of the ideas I have tried to do just that, a constant conversation with God. Perhaps i should take it off my list since you did not give it a wonderful review. But it is short enough, so who knows, maybe. Thank you. Your review was very helpful!

thank you for your video. I'm sure you have a backlog of reading you may never get to, but allow me to add to it: 'Satan' by Father Bruno de Jesus-Marie, I've heard, is a unique find. It isn't the cheapest book you'll ever buy, as far as the original publishing. I haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing it and have not read it. Amazon currently has a pre-order for what appears to be a re-publish, titled 'Satan: The Tempters Existence in the World and Nature', which is affordably priced. Currently, I'm flipping through Fr. Bruno de Jesus Marie's 'Conflict and Light' (not widely available, but affordable). I'm new to coming across your channel and have a current focus in 'spiritual warfare', which is the subject of the aforementioned reads. what you do is appreciated. keep up the interesting work.
