How to pop-up on all length of surfboards (the chickenwing) - goofy and regular (ENG)

Surf Pop-Up Tip 3 - works for all kind and length of surfboards, the so called "chickenwing" where you can use your rear leg to get on your surfboard. You don't need to jump, and it is easier to get your front foot directly in the right position. The chickenwing style works on any kind of surfboard so you can use it as a beginner or intermediate surfer, as well as a surf pro
The pop up or take off is the most important move in surfing. No pup up, no surf!
And if you are not a surf pro you should really train it on dryland.

Dear Sir , I am a beginner surfer ( 67 years old ) and since I see many and many times your excellent video , it is more easy to take off for me , 3 times succeed on 10 times approxtimatively , only on the white waves. I don't live near the sea so it is only during holidays but I feel progress. Thank you for your work. Alain from France.

Your awesome! I have been surfing for about 20 years but as I get older I have became more inconsistent with my pop-ups due to injuries over the years and broken time. This makes me much more confident and consistent with my pop-ups also takes a lot less energy. Thanks!

yeah, try it. There are no pop ups working for everyone. You have to find YOUR pop up. So try the chickenwing and see if it works for you.

Enjoyed the chicken wing instruction - as a 50+ guy getting back into surfing, it's a methodical and smooth transition that doesn't put a lot of stress on the body.

Yeah, once over 50 it’s rare to be able to flick both feet through.

absolutely agree, im 66 & trying to flick both my feet under my body while dropping into a wave has become a personal nightmare LOL i have a 6'8" DHD Black diamond, I cant wait to try the chicken wing. Its feels super easy on land compared to the flick style pop up & way less effort with the bonus of my feet are in way better position & no more catching toes. Cheers Pete

Damn we used to draw lines on the ground and still do when teaching people. What's the point of this product when you can have the same thing with some tape? Please people don't buy useless products especially ones made from plastic, yeah its recycled but its still a waste for 119 euro when you can have the achieve the same result with a roll of 20c roll of tape

Yes, the same like you can build your own balance board, surfboard or anything else! JUST FEEL FREE TO DO IT. But please stay fair and friendly in your wording!

I was just going to say! Bought a tumbling mat for 15 dollars at Ikea and used medical tape to make an outline. I actually like this more than a yoga mat version because it's a bit thicker and easier on the knees, but still very stable! It's nice for when I'm doing 40-50 popups during a workout. Also, it folds and slides under my couch 😂

@@SuperTittays it's like we started our idea of the POPUPMATIC. I always trained on a mat but I missed a visual help if I'm doing well. Puted some tape on it what made my training more effective and with an visual response if my feet are landing in the right position
