The first album and this song came out in 1967, not 1965. they were still going by the Warlocks name until December of 1965. The first known performance of this song according to Deadbase was 3/18/1967. Still a Great lesson though, Thanks.

THIS IS A GREAT SONG WHEN PERFORMED PROPERLY! and I have to disagree with your assessment that this song has references to witchcraft or some other type of sorceryVerse #1) describes a HAPPY-GO-LUCKY GIRL SO ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT LIFE THAT SHE'S WHISTLING, SINGING, AND NOTICEABLY HAPPY TO BE ALIVE!!! THE CHORUS IS ABOUT CELEBRATION THE LAST VERSE IS ABOUT CELEBRATING AND PARTYING WHEN YOUR MOTHER LEAVES FOR THE SEASON NOTHING BUT JOY AND FESTIVITY HERE!! And I'll tell you a little something about our front man Jerry. I was in Noblesville Indiana (Deer Creek) 1995 when the gatecrashers couldn't be satisfied with a full view of the stage, descent sound and a parking lot full of all kinds of goodies, but that wasn't good enough for the gatecrashers! THEY CHASED THE NOBLESVILLE POLICE UP THE HILL TO THE AMPHATHEATRE AND STARTED SMASHING DOWN THE WOODEN FENCING THROWING DEBRIS ALL OVER THE PAYING FANS...JERRY WAS DISGUSTED! bUT THE COPS WERE SPRAYING PEPPER SPRAY AND THEY FORCED THE MOB BACK DOWN THE HIL, BUT NOT BEFORE TRAPPING 5 OR 6 GATECRASHERS ON THE HILLSIDE! EACH GATECRASHER WASON THE GROUND BEING BEATEN BY NO LESS THAN 5 COPS AT ONCE, WITH BATONS, KICKING THEM IN THE HEAD...I MEAN TRYING TO PERMANENTLY DISFIGURE THESE KIDS!BUT JERRY SAW IT! AND JERRY STOPPED PLAYING AGAIN, THEN HE BREAKS OUT "QUINN THE ESKIMO" COME ON WITHOUT (without your ticket) COME ON WITHIN (come on in) YOU'VE NOT SEEN NOTHING LIKE THE MIGHTY QUINN!!THE GATECRASHERS WENT CRAZY AND THREW ALL CAUTION TO THE WIND AS JERRY WAS TALKING DIRECTLY TO THEM!!! THEYRUSHED UP ON THOSE COPS WHO WERE BEATING THOSE KIDS SO FAST THAT THE COPS FEARED THEY WERE GOING TO GET TRAMPLED AND I THOUGHT "GREAT JERRY, NOW INSTEAD OF 5 RODNEY KING BEATINGS HAPPENING AT ONCE, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE 5 DEAD KIDS TRAMPLED TO DEATH BECAUSE YOU INCITED A STAMPEDE!!But I was never so happy to be wrong about the gatecrashers.. EVEN the selfish gatecrashers (who ruined the free show) had a sense of humanity and stopped andhelped the seriously injured kids into the now overcrowded amphatheatre! JERRY TOOK ON A SUPERHERO PERSONA THAT EVENING AND HIS WEAPON WAS HIS GUITAR! JUST WHEN HE SAID "YOU'VE NOT SEEN NOTHING LIKE THE MIGHTY QUINN!!"THE MOB OF CRAZED FANS PRODUCED A SHOW OF OVERWHELMING NUMBERS ALL WILLING TO CONFRONT THE NOBLESVILLE POLICE WHO HD BECOME AN ANGRY NEST OF HORNETS ! BUT THOSE COPS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THE MIGHTY JERRY GARCIA WHO I HELD A DEEPER RESPECT FOR AFTERWARDS!

Great video. But the chord Davvy plays isn't a C6 chord. The chord Davvy plays is usually called a F#-7b5 chord. But I hear C in the bass there, which could be (F#-7b5/C), but C6 would not have F# in it. The question then becomes, do we hear an F# in the chord? If so, we shouldn't call it C6 (I guess we could call it C6b5). But if we don't hear F# in the chord then C6 becomes an ok label as it would just have the G, the 5th, rather than the b5 F#.

So YES there WAS something I found in my research on the Grateful Dead CIA connection and the Laurel Canyon music scene which was involved in the positive attributes of mind control, MAINLY ESP acheiving "ONENESS" with your fellow deadheads and it was a world where I learned how to stop being sruel to animals to impress my metalhead friends who would cheer me on as I ran over a racoon(I KNOW! I WAS HORRIBLE!) But it was LSD and the Grateful Dead weho taught me how to unleash my conscience upon myself and ask myself "How the f%$k would YOU like to be treated the way you treat innocent animals??!!" and the way I treated other people was terrible too! The Deadheads REGARDLESS of the bands affiliation with the CIA (somewhere here on KZread Bob Weir gets asked if he ever went to Bohemian Grove. Bobby downplayed the gathering of top government officials, FBI, CIA AGENTS AND REFERRED TO IT INSTEAD AS A GATHERING OF WRITERS, ARTISTS, AND MUSICIANS AND ACTORS among other improrant people! "It's the one place where I can KNOCK A COUPLE BACK with a nice friendly CIA agent" I mean YEAH the CIA hasn't done much good lately, like the Satanic torturing of patients who were being experimented on to see if they could produce a manchurian candidate by pumping patients full of so much LSD that they couldn't even pass out from the pain! So their brain developed a split/alternate personality to cope with this awful torture! Now apply this knowledge to what we know about Mark David Chapman (John Lennon's killer) First clue that he's not mentally stable was the violent murderwhich I believe was the split/alternate personality created through systematic abuse, then he just calmly sits down and waits! Possibly his original personality is returning at this point, BUT WHY DOESN'T HE RUN?? But YES n the 1950s and 60s, a Montreal hospital was commandeered by the CIA subjected 100'S of psychiatric patients to electroshocks, drug-induced sleep deprivation and huge doses of LSD in a dangerous MK Ultra experiment that lasted over 10 years and though the CIA tortured one too many well-to-do family members and eventually got caught, many! Families are still grappling with the effects! Now let's have an honest discussion about who's selling drugs on our streets??(LEGALIZE THEM ALL!) . And we can trace the CIA identifying what was funding the Viet Kong war machine in Vietnam was OPIUM!! So the CIA made it a point to STEAL major tracts of poppy fields and plantations and sell the heroin on the American streets! This practice continued LONG AFTER the war ended and funded the governments secret wars, black projects, ect..., ect...NEXT you have the Bush's and the Clinton's usinga CIA selected private pilot by the name of Barry Seals who became George H.W. Bush's personal pilot and when he was finally caught by uncoruptable DEA agents Barry agreed to turn against his business partners and testify against them in Federal court! But ALAS Barry Seals WOULDN'T MAKE IT TO THE COURTROOM as he was killed by Columbian nationals in 1986What a MAJOR death of convenience for Barry's 2 top customers: The Clintons AND the Bush's (George H.W. Bush's personal phone # was found in Barry's back pocket at the time of death as well! GEE, I WONDER IFSIMULTANEOUSLY WHILE RE-ESTABLISHING THE POPULARITY OF THE POPPY'S PRODUCTION THAT THE TALIBAN EXPLICITLY BANNED FROM CULTIVATION WAS SOMEHOW MAKING ITS WAY OVER TO OUR AMERICAN STREETS LIKE IT WAS DURING THE VIETNAM WAR??
