Grateful Dead - One More Saturday Night (Tivoli Concert Hall 4/17/72) | Meet Up At The Movies 2022
Музыка
Grateful Dead perform “One More Saturday Night” from the 2022 Meet-Up At The Movies. For information and tickets for this year’s meet-up, head to www.MeetUpAtTheMovies.com.
This year we’re celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Europe ‘72 Album, by bringing the previously unreleased Tivoli Concert Hall, 4/17/72 performance to the big screen.
The sixth show on the Grateful Dead's famous Europe '72 tour was a return engagement to the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 17, 1972. This ground-breaking concert broadcast event was the Dead's first major live concert broadcast, and a first in Danish television history. The film is fully restored, color corrected in High Definition with audio mixed from the 16-track analog master tapes by Jeffrey Norman, and mastered by David Glasser, Tivoli 4/17/72 features nearly an hour and a half of the Grateful Dead at a peak of their performing career. The show's many highlights include an overview of the Dead's 1972 touring repertoire, including magnificent versions of China Cat Sunflower ➡️ I Know You Rider, Big Railroad Blues, Truckin', and many more of the Dead's classics, as well as the first live performance of He's Gone, and other new songs including Ramble on Rose, Jack Straw, and One More Saturday Night. Pigpen, on what would prove to be his last tour with the Grateful Dead, is well-represented by three songs, including the broadcast's opening number, Hurts Me Too.

Pure Highly-modified Strat. The guitar was transformed into a serious custom job including (but hardly limited to) new Schaller tuning pegs and gears, a series of bridges (Gibson ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic and an Alembic custom), a new control plate (hammered brass), taller frets, and an in-board post-volume "blaster". "Each pickup cover had its own individually grounded wire,"

Yeppers. Probably not a popular opinion but he could have played that Strat his entire career and I would have been happy.

Bobby was 24 here! Crazy how good he was already.

Incredible!! A phenomenal band at their peak! No theater anywhere near me, I wish they would release this in blu-ray.
Absolute bliss 😊

Rosie McGee on stage cut’n a rug up! Wish I was there 🎉
In 72 these guys were great and still getting better! KZread cannot do ths justice. Can't wait to hear this with remastered sound cranking out of some real speakers.
big body gibson with a clean sounding strat.. wouldn’t mind being at that show
When Phil hits that bass power chord for the breakdown I wanna flip tables.
My dad loves the grateful Dead ❤️😍 yay 😁💓 lol bye he's in love with it 😂
Lovin' bobby's hair, I think the '72 shows are my most favorites!!
No mickey, donna isnt screaming, life couldnt be better
Agreed; that's no off-the-shelf Stratocaster, though. Bravo!!!!
Last tour with Pigpen. The Pigpen years were the best. Maybe it was his blues influence, but it's mainly that I like the acid rock period the best. It's amazing how young Weir looks and his voice was still fresh.

They were some of their best. Right up at the top. But dude there is no denying 73/74 and 77. Among many many others. And we haven't even gotten to Brent yet. They truly aged like a fine wine until Jerry got sick in the end.
Jerry Garcia playing Fender Stratocaster is all the best! "Alligator years" were the best!
Tonight will be one more Saturday night for the books
There was no meet up by NYC that I saw for this year.
You asked me what I thought about the comment that Nick Tube made I would say it was a very great comment and somebody who knows his instruments how many people know what a Stratocaster sounds like. Great comment Nick Tube

@cactaceous

@@cityslacker6221 Metronome? Mickey Hart? In the Dead? How can you think that? He was always out of time, over complicating things and disrupting good ol Billy’s flow. Constantly. He was the only band member that was kind of expendable. Sure the Drums and Space sections were mostly his idea but anyone could have done it.

will this be released on blu ray ???
My favorite lineup. Billy really swung the whole band. Never really understood the double drummer thing. It got mighty sloppy with two guys trying to figure out which downbeats to play. Listen to that man laying it down, with traditional grip, too!
When the titans walked the earth
The look of happiness on Bobby's face when they break to jam says it all. 🔥 ❤️ 😢

Spectacular performance of "On More Saturday Night" -- Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia were at their youthful peak...
Y'all apparently still haven't found the Dark Star and Caution?? Such a bummah! You could do what Sunshine Daydream did and add animation or just about anything during the songs that have no video so that the fans can go listen to an entire Europe '72 show on movie theater speakers!
nice energetic tight version.

Does anyone know if Jerry knew Jimi Hendrix? I wonder if Hendrix liked Jerry's incredible ability to improvise endlessly with 0% boredom from the listener ???
@edm781
Жыл бұрын
Bobby jammed with Jimi hanging out around the time of Monterey Pop '67. Either backstage hang or a music shop beforehand (can't recall details I read years ago). Jimi was invited to jam with the Dead I think at Fillmore East. Jimi hooked up with some girl & bailed on the gig. Jimi showed up the next night expecting to be invited to jam. The band turned their backs on him & never invited him up again. "Music before chicks!" Read that years ago. There are some interviews out there with Bobby talking about jamming w/ Jimi.
