How to play Stranglehold by Ted Nugent, Part 1. Guitar solo lesson tutorial

Музыка

This is part 1 of 2 on how to play the great classic solo to Ted Nugent's Stranglehold.
My performance of this solo • Stranglehold - Ted Nug...
Part 2: • How to play Strangleho...
Hope this helps some of you out who were looking to learn this great (and bloody long ass) solo.

Never understood why there was no serious Stranglehold lead guitar tutorial.i gave up searching years ago and then stumbled on your video today. Full coverage tutorial including such nuanced detail when some lessons can’t even nail the main riff correctly. Just WOW! Instant sub. Life journeys are always fascinating and all I can say is you are an amazing guitarist and I’m so appreciative you created this series. I now have a lot of work to get this in hand. Very cool you’re teaching your teenage daughter, too. Priceless! Thanks, and keep on playing and sharing! Mike

Very kind of you to say. Thanks very much! I think I've stumbled on to something with my tutorials on finding ones that others haven't done. I've only done a few so far and the hard to find ones seem to be the ones a lot of people are interested in. They may not be as high profile as say comfortably numb or Stairway to Heaven etc, but I may have found my niche. The ones I choose to do going forward may not get 500,000 views, but I don't care about that. I care about doing tutorials that may be a bit harder to find.

Hi Kelly. Great tutorial of a classic iconic tune. I can recall digging that Nugent album cranked up decades ago when hash and lumbos was in the air. These songs really seemed almost magical and now thanks to online greatness we can all jam Nuge and Van Halen 1 . You teach with the same method used by Carl Brown. Best way for sure. Another good tutorial would be Edgar Winter Frankenstein. Either the studio version with Ronnie Montrose,or the live version with Rick Derringer. Thanks

I've learned the whole damn thing... but Im missing the part at 1:05 that starts with the bends, thats the only thing not covered in this lesson, could you please do a little video about that first part? Its an important part, You'd be doing me a big favor, and then the lesson would really be complete... Thank You

That would have been smart I suppose. I'm new to this. Then again, the solo is about five minutes long and there's a link to my performance in the description. A shorter solo would be a bit easier to tack on to the front end of the video. Next time I'll keep that in mind though.

What happened to the intro? You totally left it out. I’m not talking about just the rhythm part. But the very first lead that’s played in the song. It’s completely missing here. It is the hardest part to figure out in the whole song, maybe that’s why you skipped over it. Go back and listen to the record again, or watch an old Ted Nugent video. There are a couple tutorials out there that come close to getting it right. I was hoping you had it. Oh well. I’ve seen Ted perform 9 times, starting when I was just 15 years old and nobody had ever heard of him yet. One of those times was with the Damn Yankees. (I’m 65 now) I did a video of me warming up, about 13 or 14 years ago where, somewhere in the video I do part of the intro. But I didn’t know the whole thing yet. (The intro) Heck, I barely knew how to play a guitar 13 years ago. If you type in my name and the word “Warmup”, I think you can find it. For what it’s worth. (Edit) I got it. If it will allow me to put a link here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m2F5sNyjdZCthaQ.htmlsi=8MXAbWLc6bpeD7Ic

@@arthurhoneycutt1599 I Know right? How dare he inconvenience you. I can't believe he has the audacity to not put out a simple version for simple people like yourself. Too bad KZread couldnt come up with a way to skip the parts of a video that you dont want to watch. Now that would be awesome. Or maybe they could tell you how long a video is before you even click on it. That way someone such as yourself with far more important things to do with 31 minutes could select a 2 minute lesson instead. BTW. I bet it constantly eats at you what you could have accomplished in your life had you not wasted 31 minutes. If his lesson was lets say 15 minutes instead, that would have left you 16 minutes of your precious time to watch another video instead of wasting it watching a video. Life is so unfair.
