Kelly Dean Allen Guitar

Kelly Dean Allen Guitar

I can be contacted at [email protected]

Hi. My name Kelly and I play guitar. Again. Right now I'm 56 years old and I began playing when I was 13. Was quite obsessed as a teenager, often practicing upwards of 14 hours a day. Joined my first band at 17 and continued playing clubs in and around Halifax and Toronto Canada during the eighties.

Because of personal issues, and my failure to crack the big time with my music, by the age of thirty I had pretty much hung it up. Sold my gear and quit guitar completely.

Cue 23 years later and my teenage daughter started showing interest in guitar. I decided to teach her. In doing so, it re-ignited my love of the guitar. This time just for the fun and challenge of it. I am once again obsessed and playing some of the best guitar of my life after nearly 23 years without barely touching one.

No dreams of making it big anymore. I'm happy just pushing my limits to see how good I can get, strictly for the challenge of it.

Great song. So much sadness around this band, but they have left us with an iconic song list as their legacy. Cheers mate.🍻

Outstanding playing as always. You certainly have a knack for choosing some great songs. Love this one. Baby Blue is probably my over-all favorite Badfinger tune.

I'm sorry but a lot of the info regarding gear and it's availability is completely wrong. "Dunlop crybaby", Whatare you talking about?. From '67 Maestro had the Boomerang wah. Syd used a Selmer Treble and Bass. Manny's didn't paint over a sunburst in black, Fender did. That's just some of the mistakes you've made.

I transcribed this too.... among the best.... I disagree with needing 24 fret guitar.... I bend the high D to a E, and do it all bending, around your 1:39 mark.. I believe this is how it's done on the recording, you can hear him bending, drop bending too. It took a bit of practice but it's a cool chop to have in my bag. I also read somewhere that he was using a Tele for it. 24 fret guitars were not very common back then. My 2 cents.... Thanks
